As Salaamu Alaykum,
Muslims here in India (I guess also in Pakistan) think that Unani medicine is some sort of Islaamic science!
Lot of Unani colleges are run by Muslim educational organizations in India. And
vast majority if not all of the students taking these courses are Muslims.
But, I realised that Unani basically means "greek"...and I guess has got nothing (or very very less) to do with Islaam.
It might have a lot to do with Muslims because Muslims translated the greek medicine into urdu/arabic/persian.
Also talking to Unani doctors/students one gets feeling that it is not based thoroughly on experiments like the modern medicine...and is based a lot on phillosophy.
But, then I have never studied medicine...
I would appreciate if brothers and sisters who are in the medical field throw some light on this.
Jazak(i)Allahu Khairan!
