And yes I do believe people don't go just for the purpose of zinaa. There are many Muslims who can control themselves. If you have self control then you can do it. Its a matter of personal responsibility.[/QUOTE]

afwaan, i dont think you've understood. I meant that people dont only go for one purpose meaning that some go for the purposes i mentioned, though as I said, it doesnt mean it is rampant. Of course I believe people go for purposes other than that. Please re-read my posts cos I dont think you got where I was coming from in at least 2 of them.

Well I re-read your post, and my point stays valid because I was responding to the question you ended your post with.

It's obvious that you and I are coming from two diffrent sources as to weather getting a personal trainer is okay or not. The information that I present about staying fit comes from my background as a shadow trainer and an athelete. You don't have to buy into what I'm saying. Thats totally upto you. I just present the information. That being said , I'm stopping this argument right here. I'm not going to get anywhere by arguing with you and honestly I'm just wasting my time. My goal was to inform sister Diane K with an answer to her question, not be involved in a debate, which I seemed to have walked my self into.

Happy 2BA Muslim

Islamophilic
Thanks to you all for the guidance. And Thanks HumbleOne for knowing and understanding how little I know just yet and how much effort it will take until my mindset changes! It is really hard to THINK islamically. I am a creature of habit....first thing I do when I get in the car in the evenings after work is crank up the stereo to release stress and detox myself. I still think and say things outloud that are just UNISLAMIC and feel bad after....for example...if driving down the road and someone cuts me off I curse like a Russion Sailor! It isn't an easy thing to teach your brain how to think all over again......

Assalamu alaikum Sister,

Your on the right track Sister.

You are thinking Islamically. That`s why you came to ask here.

I am sure you have more Islamic knowledge than lots of born Muslims. Believe me. I read your posts before Islam and after. A BIG DIFFERENCE!

May Allah SWT keep you steadfast and bless you and your family.

Sister Dianek is a revert.I would just say that it might be right for her to do what she wants.

But please try to AVOID because Prophet said "If you have doubt about any thing then remove the doubt .it has great reward"

SO please try your best Although I say that for a revert it is DIFFICULT to change overnight.

Morning: Cut out the diet coke. Soft drinks are all same regardless if they are diet or not. There is a study that was on the news last year where doctors found that both diet and non-diet carbohydrate soft drinks expands the stomach. Besides they are all stacked with sugar. You don't have to go for any special oatmeal. All oat meal are great. However I suggest getting the original flavor where it is plain. Its better to buy that that doesn't have any taste and mix it in with brown sugar than to buy the flavored ones.

Mid-morning snack: The yogurt is fine. Just check the nutritional guide on the back. If there is no sat. or trans fat. and the sugar is anywhere between 5-10 grams than you are fine.

Lunch: Your lunch seems pretty good. Always pick grilled chicken over any other types of chicken like fried, or baked. I would suggest going with a low-fat balsamic dressing, if it isn't already.

After-noon snack: I wouldn't eat any junk food, regardless if they are low on anything. Junk food are loaded with sodium. Sodium increases excess water into your body which can make you bloat. Plus it's bad for the blood. Sodium intake is something you should watch out for. I buy something called "salt subtitutes" form grocery stores. You can find them anywhere. They taste like salt on food but has 0 grams of sodium. It's amazing.

Dinner: The grilled chicken are good. I suggest adding in a small cup of brown rice along with the vegies as well.

*Tip*- I've noticed from my clients that most of the time beginners have a very hard time to keep up their diet. Mostly due to lack of or dieing motivation. In order to avoid this, make sure to reward yourself from time to time. For instance I always told my clients to give themselves a chocklate chip cookie to eat after a week of successfull dieting, and to always raise the time each time before they reward themselves (like after the first week they would start to reward themselves, they would raise the time before they rewarded themselves again every 2 weeks, then every once a month and so forth) This will not only keep you motivated, but once you loose the weight and see significant results the diet will become natural to you and all the bad foods you used to consume before will seem disgusting. I even sometimes reward myself from time to time. After 3 years staying on a hard routine, I still find myself eating leisurely when I'm on vacation. I'm on vacation now where my parents live in TN and I've eaten everything my mom has offered me. However when I go back to CA 4 days from now, I'll go back to my notebook.

*Tip 2*- Always, Always, Always drink 1 gallon of water each day. I can not stress that enough. Its hard to do that in the beginning but work your way up to it. You body is 75% water and your blood cells are bathing in it. The more water you drink the faster you will loose your weight. Also water breaks down any sodium you may have taken through out the day. I'm known as the "gallon jug" guy around my University because I always carry around a gallon of water on me in those huge water bottles.

*Tip 3*- Make sure to eat 6 times a day. Eat those meals every 2-3 hours. Doing so will raise your metabolism incredibly and have it running faster and faster as you progress with your training.

THANKS BE TO GOD......somebody gets me!!!!! Yeah we have curves but I don't want to be locked in to a monthly payment and not have a PERSONAL TRAINER.....you know.....I would love to do belly dancing.......here you can take 6 weeks of classes for 35 bucks! But I am afraid to do it and find it really hard to get away from house and kids in the PM when the class is offered. I usually do all my work outs during my lunch hour.

Faisal,

You rock! A gallaon of water......huh......how many ounces of water is that (I hated math sorry!) According to the Points plan by weight watchers the popcorn is only like 2 points for cups of it.....hmmmmm......Yeah I am doing it all.....POINTS VALUES (less than 25 per day).......drinking as much water as I can. I was told to always drink half your body weight in ounces of water ie....180 lbs drink 90 oz water......I will try for the gallon though.....I also take water pills twice daily and I am considering Hydroxycut....any thoughts on that product?

I took Hydroxycut Hardcore for a competition. From my experience and experiences of my friend's, all I can say is it's worthless. It has different effects on everyone and on me I always had a migrane. Hyrdroxycut sends signals to your cells to burn fat in an un-natural rate. If you are considering using it, I suggest at least master drinking a gallon of water each day first.

The best way to loose weight is the natural way and the natural way is to watch what you eat and eat 6 times a day. Watch the calories, fat, carb, dietery fibers, and sodium intake and you will gain the same results from someone using Hyrdroxycut, if not more.

I don't trust any fat-burning pills. They always have some sort of a side effect. I have yet to have seen one that doens't cause some kind of a risk.

*EDIT* One things I forgot to mention is that using Hydroxycut will give you loose skin. You get loose skin when you loose weight very fast. The normal rate for loosing weight is 1-2lbs a week max. Any more than that will give you loose skin. There are a lot of things to understand before you excercise, thats why I recommend a personal trainer. After all if you are gonna transform your body, might as well do it the right way.

Assalamoalikum

There is a hadith of The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘If one of you were to be struck in the head with an iron needle, it would be better for him than if he were to touch a woman he is not allowed to.” (Reported by al-Tabaraani; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 5045).

I hope this serve the purpose, I will not add any thing.

akhi there is no debate, thats why i said I think you've misunderstood (a polite way of ending it saying its getting no where). Had you not said you'll end it here I would've now.

But one piece of advice akhi (to me as well as to you), avoid qiyaas when you can and resort more to the texts of the Qur'aan and Sunnah. We cannot apply the hukm of one thing to another, we're not scholars (although specialist knowledge on this issue which you possess only assists in a better juridical, islamic decision).
