Hi to everyone!
I am a 42 yo woman from Finland. I have studied Islam for some time now...For some reason I got interested in it last summer. I find Islam so beautiful and I feel good when I read about it. With all respect to Christianity it never gave me any answers, just confusion with this Jesus/ God /Holy Ghost -issue, which I still dont understand.
Now I´d like to ask you when do I know enough to call myself muslim? The information is endless...I´d like to hear from people who converted from Christianity to Islam; what is your story? How did your life change?

Wishing all the best for you all!

Assalamu alaikum (peace be unto you) sister!

Islam means acceptance, submission, surrender and peace.

If you accept Allah as the only God, worthy of worship,
submit yourself to Allah's will (doing what HE orders/ refrain from what HE prohibits)
and completely surrender to HIM, you will get peace in return.
That peace will be first and foremost, peace of heart and mind and you will feel at home at last and out of the darkness of confusion to the light of truth.

How you can start the transformation is to repeat the following words by mouth and believe them by heart:

Ash-hadu An-la-ilaha Illa-Allah Wa-ash-hadu Anna-Muhammadan Rasool_Allah

Meaning " I bear witness that there is no one worthy of worship except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah"

By doing so, YOU ARE A MUSLIM.

Peace

Peace Mariana,
Firstly welcome to TTI.
Allah (All praises belong to Him alone) guides to His light whomever He wills.
You can watch videos of many muslim converts given on the below thread. You can hear themselves testifing that there is no God worthy of worship except Allah (SWT).Rejecting all partners, statues,Idols, spirits etc . . .associated to Him by the ignorant Humans.Calling directly unto Him alone.Sister Mariana equip yourself with Islamic knowledge to the extent that you are satisfied that you have been guided by Allah SWT.But don't waste time sister as life is too short & unto Him is our final return,

Hi Mariana;

welcom to tti. May allah guid you. Many sweet and intelligente sisters on tti are willing to help you and answer your questions.

you are in the right place.

(63) Say (O Muhammad SAW): "O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allâh (Alone), and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allâh[]. Then, if they turn away, say: "Bear witness that we are Muslims." (64) O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Why do you dispute about Ibrâhim (Abraham), while the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) were not revealed till after him? Have you then no sense? (65) Verily, you are those who have disputed about that of which you have knowledge. Why do you then dispute concerning that of which you have no knowledge? It is Allâh Who knows, and you know not. (66) Ibrâhim (Abraham) was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a true Muslim Hanifa (Islâmic Monotheism - to worship none but Allâh Alone) and he was not of Al-Mushrikûn (See V.2:105)[] (67) Verily, among mankind who have the best claim to Ibrâhim (Abraham) are those who followed him, and this Prophet (Muhammad SAW) and those who have believed (Muslims). And Allâh is the Walî (Protector and Helper) of the believers. (68) [Quran chapter 3]

V.2:105

Neither those who disbelieve among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) nor Al-Mushrikûn (the idolaters, polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh, pagans, etc.) like that there should be sent down unto you any good from your Lord. But Allâh chooses for His Mercy whom He wills. And Allâh is the Owner of Great Bounty. (105)

Salaam Mariana,

Welcome to the global family. Inshallah (God willing) you will find TTI rewarding and resourceful.

We really mean it when we say Islam is a complete way of life. Stay in tune with us. Please do not hesitate to ask ANY questions.

You become Muslim by starting at the fundamental core (by stating the Shahada or declaration of faith) that their is no deity to be worshiped except God (or Allah in Arabic) and that Mohammad (peace be upon him) was the last/seal of the prophets, may Allah exalt their mentions. Islam is the religion of the modern age. Islam is very simple for humans to understand. There is no concept of trinity. Islam actually the next chapter of Christianity that helps to clear many of its misunderstandings.

BTW, how is the weather in Finland? I hear it's great for skiing.
