I have no idea what to do here. lol Calculus, yeah?

x by x =7 I would guess 3.5 but I will not count on that being right :)

:salam2: the equation is not well given because i don't have that key so don't worry,anyway here's the solution
x=-v7 or x=v7
v as square root

Asselemou Alaikum

the square root of 7 is = 2.6457513110645907

so as you said
x= 2.6457513110645907
or
x= -2.6457513110645907

salam :)

If you just take the sqrt of 7 then Umm Ismael is right, correct :confused: Just asking because Umm Ismael already gave that answer.

Asselemou Alaikum

And if we compare those results to what science nowadays show?? ;)

:wasalam: this equation shows 71.1% of water(sea) and 28.8 of land which explains the global warming,i guess.

Asselemou Alaikum,

i dont know if it explains the global warming, but i know that science proved the same number... :

:)

Alhamdu li Allah

Solution

X=5
how about X+3y=12...........equation 1
4X+6y=40...........equation 2
Solve the equations simultaneously and find the values of X and y

:salam2:brother this's what i got as solution tell me if it's not correct insallah.
x+3y=12
4x+6y=40

x+3y=12 means x=12-3y

4(12-3y)+6y=40
48-12y+6y=40
-6y=-8 y=4/3

now let's find x
x=12-3y
x=12-3(4/3)
x=12-12/3
x=36/3-12/3
x=24/3 x=8
:wasalam: hope i get it right anyway let me know inshallah brother.

how about this
0.2x+y=18 equation 1
x-1.2y=2.5 equation 2

x=19.43548387
y=14.11290323

Next question......

If you throw a dice 6 times, what's the chance that you'd get a six on:
a: exactly one of the throws.
b: one or more of the throws

As-salamo'alaikum,

1/6 is for throwing dice once.
For further throwings if you want to have 6 in each throwing you have to (1/6)^x
x=number of throwings
If you want it to happen just for 1 time
You have to have 5/6 5 times and 1/6 once so
(5/6)^5 * 1/6...this is the probability of getting a six on exactly once...similarly we can find for other condition.

Hope the probability of my answer being correct is 1!! InshALLAH..

A Simple one

Jack and Jill have two children. The probability that the first child is a girl, is 50%. The probability that the second child is a girl, is also 50%. Jack and Jill tell you that they have a daughter.

What is the probability that their other child is also a girl?

As-salamo'alaikum,

The sample space is here the three possible combinations {B, G}, {G, B}, {G, G}.

so the answer is 1/3..

:salam2:
First the simpler one. The two events are not correlated to each other. So the probability of the other child being 50% remains valid, even if you already know, that one child is a daughter.

Now the more difficult ones:
(1). The probability of exactly 1 six in exactly one particular throw is (1/6)(5/6)^5. For the probability of exactly 1 six in any one of the throws you have it add it 6 times. That means the answer is: (5/6)^5.

(2) The proabability of getting one or more sixes in the six dice experiments: (1/6)^6 times i = 0 S5 (5)^i. No calculator to get it more simplified.
