I know a Muslim Revert Sister in the USA. Fatimah, MAshaAllah she writes really beautiful Poems that always hold their meaning whenever you read them.

I hope that she registers and helps out here... inshaAllah.

In meantime, i will add some of the poems that i have..

----------

Tears of Death

Do you hear them, can you hear them cry?
Why do the children of Palestine have to die?
Have we all forgotten what life is all about?
We simply sit and listen as the politicians shout.

Can you hear the screams of death and dying?
Do you see the truth or know who’s lying?
Chance of peace has gone but we still don’t know.
We just wait and watch the insanity grow.

Palestine is dying, do you really care?
Or are you only thankful that you don’t live there?
Israel is laughing because they already know,
That the world won’t stop them, they just watch the show.

Darkness descends on the world with a dying heart,
Why don’t we see that we each played a part?
Palestine is calling, who will come to their side?
You must do more than feel sorry for all who have died.

Has your heart grown so cold that you can no longer see,
That each tear of death affects the world that will be.
If we don’t stop it now, then just when will it end?
Till the next country dies, or they start it again?

--------------------------------------

Prideful

You say we’re acting prideful if we remind you when you do wrong.
But we’re just trying to help you keep your faith where it belongs.
Does it really make you angry to be told when you’re not right?
When you know the cost will be your soul when all you want to do is fight.

What makes you feel the need to argue about the things you do not know?
I can’t believe that hell is the place that you really want to go.
You say that you’re just having fun, it’s a game, it isn’t real.
So you’re quick to give out insults and never care how others feel.

When Allah gave us human pride it was given as a test.
It didn’t mean that you should act as if you’re better than the rest.
A true heart has compassion, Allah knows what your soul hides.
So if you’re reaching out for heaven, there’s no room for jealous pride.

Life is too short for anger, it can not help you when you’re dead.
One day you’ll have to pay the price for all the hurtful things you said.
You should always act with kindness and pray that Allah will be pleased.
Wisdom will be your guardian if you remember that Allah sees.

Cast The Blame On Ignorance

Reality takes its shape to make the world become surreal,
In a kaleidoscope of emotions until we are no longer sure what we feel.
Do we love, do we hate, or do we even really care?
Our emptiness becomes perversion when we seek sincerity that isn’t there.

In an empty shell of humanity where compassion has become lost,
Like perfect little soldiers, we move ahead despite the cost.
We are blind to our mortality but feel the passions of our greed,
And fail to see the corpse of our own future in the warnings that we didn’t heed.

We have starved our homes of kindness and watched our families die.
We act surprised, then we act shocked, then pretend we don’t know why.
We cast the blame on ignorance but the lesson is never learned,
As we searched for love and compassion but the feelings we never returned.

Welcome to this site Nightwind, nice to see you, i hope you and your family are doing good inshaAllah..

Wasalam.

thanks for the poems

as-salam Sr.

you have very nice poems and Jazak' Allah to our Br for bringing these to our attention. i particularly liked the words regarding Palestina. is it out of line to offer one also? i wrote this in regards to Iraq:

Iraq’s past stands fast in contrast against stark
Medieval minds and pagan war-paths
Ages were Dark: A shadow cast across a Europe, half mast
Iraqi Scholars walked and talked amidst the light and paved parks

Allah: His Word that sparked a march
Across the land that spans vast
Unmasked the dawn that marks ‘Enlightenment’
Only His Book could Forecast

It’s where the ‘Surat ul-Mustaqim’ of Ibrahim starts
The Straight Path
Knowledge abolished
Of her Prophets and past

Caliphs and Rightly Guided Salaf
Ancient patrons, mind’s asked;
Science and architects of culture
Sculptured maths and facts, crafts

From ‘Stone’ to ‘Bronze’, ages and pages
That’s now lost to minds masked
Ancient Iraq: knowledge abolished
Of her climes and times passed.

wassalam,
shahid abdul-Matin
