Tears of worries and sadness..........

Travelling towards my grave.
assalam 'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

Minutes, hours, days, weeks and months are passing by. Each and every second of life reminds us about a very important fact that we are traveling towards our end. Our ancestors who lived here like us, have gone now. Our fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers are leaving this what we call 'beautiful Dunya' one by one.

Each and every creation of Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) in this world is preparing for something very special, except us. It is to meet a guest who visits us once in a year. Yes you got it right. It is Ramadan. Beginning (10 days) of Ramadan is Mercy, center (10 days) of it is forgiveness from Allah and last ten days are protection and setting you free from hell fire.

But...........

Are we really prepared to get them in this blessed month of Ramadan which is only around 10 days away from us? No we have nothing prepared. Oh I forgot. We did prepare many things. We painted our house with beautiful colours, we bought many and many different items to play games and to make our fast "SHORT". Including chess, carrom, badminton, TT, PS3, and you name it.

Is this how the best Muslims prepared for Ramadan? It is recorded that when Ramadan comes, they specialise that month for Prayers, Reading and Researching Quran, Doing other Nafl 'Ibadah and strengthening the ties with family and relatives etc etc. When the month is gone, they ask Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) to accept the 'Amals they have done, and it lasts for the next 6 months. When that 6 months pass, they keep make Du'a to let them meet the next Ramadan.

The Salaf al-Saliheen of this Ummah prepared for Ramadan not in the ways how we prepare. We gather to gather all the items but not try to improve even a mili-meter spiritually. Yet we have everything with us with the mercy of Allah. We have money, house, car, (physically) beautiful spouse(s) and our own business. Will they be with us to remove our loneliness and darkness in the grave? Is it not something which each and every one of us enter? We will be in the darkness of our coffin, which will be in the darkness of earth, which will be in the darkness of night.

This could be our last Ramadan my respected brothers and sisters in Islam. Remember the family members, relatives and friends who enjoyed last Ramadan who are left us now? Did they knew that it could be the last Ramadan in their life? The same applies to ourselves.

Let us all together prepare to meet this blessed guest, trying to get all the benefits of the Night of Power in which Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) sent down Quran, which is in the last 10 days of it.

May Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) make our hearts pure and clean and grant us al-Firdausul A'la. Allahumma Ameen.

O the situation of the Ummah! O the situation of the Ummah! O the situation of the Ummah!

wassalam 'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
