Questions bugging me

I have a few questions that I need help answering
*Which is better , performing Shaf'i and Witr prayers individually or with Jama'a'?
*Is it obligatory to say bismillah before Surah Fatihah in sallat?(because i have heard Imams who recite without hearing them say bismillah)
*What is the best way to maintain a Quran memorisation? reading while looking in the Quran or without looking in it?
Mashallah i would very much appreciate ir if anyone could help me with any of the questions. Jazakumullah

brother i think basmallah is the first verse of surah fatiah so should not be ommited....
there is a hadith about the 7 oft repeated verses
without basmallah you are left with 6.
please correct me if i am wrong
