Assalamualaikum,

Alhamdulilah that Jan has finally found her way to find Allah. Dont worry about the dress. It will improve slowly as you learn about Islam. Im surprised that Jan is wearing hijab in style in a way that Asian mostly wear. I think Jan is trying not to loose her modist. Here lots of woman wearing hijab beatifully just like Jan is wearing. But if i may suggest, maybe you cover your current modest hijab with one beautiful silk kerchief on top of the head cover..it should be more modest and also tells you that you are a moslem...hope it works....i feel so grateful with jan..
wassalam

Just look at thoses womens, they all are coming from a culture which is totally different but when they found the truth they simply accept the truth as it is without making their own interpretation. When i first saw these converted Muslims i was feeling shame how i and my other Muslims brothers and sisters make their interpretation about Islam just for their own internal desires. They are surely very good future of Muslim ummah.

God bless all Muslims especially converted ones.

Allahu Akbar :ma:
Asalamualikum,

This was informative of how one person, so deeply concerned with what the Qur'an says, is foremost for her, instead of copying how other muslims dress.
Her comments about the various cultures who wear the hijab a certain way was a good observation, because most cultures bring with them their nationality of dress.
It mentions that her peers were already aware of her interest in Islam, so this was not a shock to them, according to the video, for her to wear the hijab.
Although her neck shows a lot, perhaps in time, she will adjust to the proper coverage of the hijab.
Right now, she is doing what she believes in. If the 'critics' of her dress are too strong, it is because they possibly grew up among those wearing full hijabs...In time, she might want to cover more of her neck, etc. thus allowing the face, hands, and feet only to be seen.
This video is good for anyone to 'hear' and 'see' how a revert thinks about this change.

Sallam,
Kristina

I loved that first video. I'll have to watch the others when I can (making dinner right now). She made some good points :)
