I hope everybody is good InshaAllah good enough to answer a question.


you see I'm kind of confused. I always here different answers.


are you allowed to close your eyes for the whole prayer? cause you know I like to close my eyes because it keeps me on track and when I open it I think about other things.

so please if some one could answer InshaAllah

It is discouraged. The reason is that you may dose off and not even know it. In a drowsy state you may utter a word wrong or forget to say necessary words and that would render your prayer invalid.

For the same reason, in Fajr, Maghrib and `Ishaa' prayers, we are encouraged to say the words audibly, while in Zhuhr and `Asr we don't have to. In the former, we have either just woke up or ready to go to bed, hence saying the words audibly will help us stay awake.

But if you really can't concentrate with your eyes open then its okay...right?
