Parents and Islamophobia

Salam aleikum.

I hope all reads are in best iman and health inshAllah.

I wanted to ask where I could tell my mother to read and learn more about Islam (online or books) and see that i am not brainwashed or psychotic as she so nicely put it. Or if there is some kind of group for reverts parents where she could get the supports she needs to deal with this issue? She is saying all the worst in peacefull Islam and its making me sad to see her suffer so much and you can imagine she is not listen to me or what i have to say, because am as said brainwashed.

I think is best to start by watching videos of people from all walks of life and all ages turning to islam so she can see that in islam no one is forced to take shahadah. videos of Dr Jeffery Lang who was an atheist and turned to islam is very good because he explains his understanding of Quaran . Also debates of Ahmad deedat with different Christian scholars. here are the links.

Islam is a way of life
My family is the same way! Except my mother, all she says is that she wont go in public with me while I wear a headscarf.

My father sisters, brother all pretty much pray this is a phase or think I'm damning myself. If your mum is willing to to read, i recommend the book "Daughters of Another Path" It's about Mothers & daughters, where the daughter choose Islam over their familys religion.

There is a good book written by the mother of a revert to Islam. It is called daughters of a another path: experience of American women choosing Islam by Carol L. Anway. ISBN # 0-9647169-0-9. It is a good book Masha Allah.

Sister don't feel discouraged or sad my whole family thinks I am crazy and they just don't understand. Someday Insha Allah they will understand and Insha Allah your family will as well. Just make Dua that they understand sooner than later. May Allah open your family's heart and may they see the beauty of Islam. May they some day accept you and Islam. Insha Allah. :hearts:
