Islamic Awareness Week

Assalamo alaikum wa rahmatullah

Every spring we host an Islamic Awareness Week (IAW) to inform and raise awareness of Islam and its adherents within the campus community. We do this by setting up da’wah booths during high traffic times, hosting lecture events, hosting mornings of giving out coffee, donuts and da’wah material, hosting a fair for da’wah. The Islamic Awareness Week has many great benefits, amongst them are the facts that non-Muslims are given the true message of Islam rather than the radical message portrayed by the media, resulting in tolerance and friendly, respectful, coexistence on campus. Additionally, it keeps Muslims proactive in community service and gives them a sense of this obligation of giving da’wah for the sake of Allah.

Islamic Awareness Week is just one of many projects that the MSO embarks upon. We are considered one of the more active student organizations on campus and MSA’s in greater New York.

Below are the ads used for the advertising purposes. So what do you guys think about them???

oh subhana'Allaah...I love your flyers!!! like seriously and the topics are super good. May Allaah reward you guys for doing this..we're having our IAW on the 11-15. We do have similar topics like who is Mohamed and so on. We have speakers for each day...do you guys have speakers for each specific day??

Also we had the idea of doing a trailer video about the week itself which would be a means of advertisement. So maybe thats something you should look into.

Also we had the idea of doing a trailer video about the week itself which would be a means of advertisement. So maybe thats something you should look into.

If i start writing down about 50% of the things that will be done during IAW, then i have to spend a good 3-5 hours on tti lol. Meaning BIG FAT ZERO'S on my projects and assignments.....

But alhamdolillah this IAW is being properly and professionally planned. What i have shown you is just a glimpse of it.

There are no copyrights .. lol...feel free to use them where you or any one else want.

I am planning to take some high quality pictures of the posters and other stuff that will be used for IAW. I have seen some posters, they are huge, creative and informative. So i guess you may want to wait for them as well.

Regarding videos, I am not sure about it at this stage. It is very time consuming. I recently uploaded a very nice lecture "ALWAYS COMING FIRST" by "Sheikh Yaser Birjas". The file size was about 1.9gb and it took about 8 hours to be uploaded on youtube.

Inshallah i will also post it here as this is ONE OF THE BEST LECTURES that i have attended. IT WORTH WATCHING...

Btw these posters were not designed by me ..Each poster was designed by a different individuals. Some were designed by the sisters and some by the brothers. But alhamdolillah each poster was very creative...

Latrobe University Islamic Awarness week 11-15th April

Alhamdulilah we also had an awareness week and so far its been awesome!

This year we really improved our marketing techniques to get more non-muslims to come and it worked really well

We had prayer room open day today and it was soo great it was like non-stop i dont think i had a break from 12-3pm. It amazed me that we had so many American exchange students coming and learning about islam who didnt know about any islamic societies in their uni back home ( but then again some were like from Arkansas and other southern states).

Even people who didnt come in were like peering inside and i think it really helped to break down barriers and facilitating understanding about islam and muslims.

Yes alhamdolillah the banner "Jesus the Muslim" drew a lot of attention.

While setting up the tables or while walking by I overhead comments like "No he was a christian etc". Alhamdolillah when the defination of the word "Islam & Muslim" was told to them, some of them had no objection.
