The "good" christian sect?

Assalam alykum, has any one heard of the died out sect of Christianity known as the Ebionites? They rejected the theorys that Christ Jesus (pbuh) was god or the son of god just a messaih. They also believed that it was pious to be poor, not the way some Christian popes went with Christianity after Jesus (pbuh) left the earth. They reject all of the pual scripture.

Ebionites, or Greek: Ἐβιωναῖοι Ebionaioi, (derived from Hebrew אביונים ebyonim, ebionim, meaning "the poor" or "poor ones"), is a patristic term referring to a Jewish Christian sect or sects that existed during the first centuries of the Christian Era.[1] They regarded Jesus as the Messiah[2] and insisted on the necessity of following Jewish religious law and rites.[3] The Ebionites used only one of the Jewish Gospels, revered James the Just and rejected Paul of Tarsus as an apostate from the Law.[4] Their name suggests that they placed a special value on voluntary poverty.
Since historical records by the Ebionites are scarce, fragmentary and disputed, much of what is known or conjectured about the Ebionites derives from the Church Fathers, who wrote polemics against the Ebionites, whom they deemed heretical Judaizers.[5][6] Consequently very little about the Ebionite sect or sects is known with certainty, and most, if not all, statements about them are conjectural.

Anyone know anything else about them? EDIT: Forgot to say, they also reject his crucifiction and some other mainstream christian beliefs

No, never heard of this......any ways not only this, early days Christians (even the family members of Isa-ibn-mariyam a.s.)never considered him as God ......what the current day Christians believe (Paul.. Paul.. Paul) was officially accepted in 325 ce at council of Nicea (by voting........not by God's order!!)

Was reading about the Ebionites at wikipedia and got one interesting informaion..
"One of the first men to believe in the prophethood of Muhammad was an Ebionites monk named Waraqah ibn Nawfal, whom Muslims highly honor as a pious man with deep knowledge of the Christian scriptures."
