why critisize

Walaykkum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

I have a little different perspective. Honestly, I am not happy criticizing someone nor do I take pleasure in that. But, I like it when someone criticizes me. Because, it corrects me and removes the mistakes in my beliefs. I have always been criticized and corrected and I have had some good realization through that and had a chance to ponder over myself. BUT, the criticism should be based on KNOWLEDGE of Qur'an and Sunnah. And not emotions or mere loud statements. Criticism based on knowledge corrects our actions, beliefs and statements and makes ourself closer to Sunnah.

A Golden advice that I have always cherished is :

When you are treated unjustly,do not behave unjustly;
When you are praised, do not become happy;
When you are criticized, do not become upset;
When you are not believed, do not become angry;
And if people act deceitfully towards you, do not act deceitfully towards them.''

It is related by Ibn al Jawzee in Sifatus-safwah(2/200) as narrated by Ibn Abee Haatim.

Baarakallahu feekum!
