Assalamualaikum my brothers ans sisters. I am currently making a dua which should be done for 40 days for example (1)reciting surah Muzamil for 41 days to get married or (2) reciting verse 36 of sura Yasin after a tahajjud prayer for 40 days ...now my question is what do i do if i happen to be on my period within the 40 days.. do i stop the duas and continue when am done with mensuration or do i continue making the dua during my mensuration and how will my period affect my dua. And will stopping the dua affect its effectiveness.Thank you and may Allah the Almighty answer to our prayers and duas

You can not read any surah from Quran when you are in period.
So, note the number you have come and start after you are clean.
If these prays are for marriage, I will pray too

Is praying this dua for 40 days a known sunnah? I've heard that many people recite particular verses and say "pray such and such for so many days" but we have to make sure that what we're following has some sound basis in the Sunnah.
