Wa`alaikum salaam warahmatullaahi wabarakaatuh.

Islam teaches us to be just akhy. We should do our best to help stop injustice no matter who it's being done to. But the things that happened in the past have already passed, we can't do a thing about it now. You can feel bad but be careful of making du`aa for them to be forgiven and granted jannah, etc.. (I believe I've read a fatwa on this before, I'll see if I can find it again inshaa'Allah)They are still non-Muslims and we don't make du`aa for them after they pass away. The few Muslims who go around shouting "Hitler is my hero" don't have the proper sense of Mind. We don not root for tyrants, doesn't matter if they killed our "enemies" or not. We are against oppression of any form and taking lives unjustly is the biggest one of them.

There's a verse in the qur'aan, "Because of that We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind." [Al-maa'idah:32]

Narrated ‘Abd Allāh ibn ‘Amr (radhi Allaahu anhu) who related that Allāh’s Messenger (Sallallaahu alaihi assalam) said: “Whoever killed a Mu’ahid (a non-Muslim who is under the pledge of protection by the Muslims) will not smell the fragrance of Paradise though its fragrance can be smelled at a distance of forty years (of traveling).” [Bukhari #2929, #6524]

-My time's up! Someone else can be of further help to you, inshaa'Allaah

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Those who are merciful will be shown mercy by the Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth and the One above the heavens will have mercy upon you. The womb is derived from the Merciful, so whoever keeps relations with his family then Allah will keep relations with him, and whoever abandons his family then Allah will abandon him.

The dweller of the earth is both Muslims and non-Muslims so we should show empathy toward everyone.

How should we feel when confronted with evil? Visit any Holocaust Museum, or just see those images, how can anyone deny that this was the work of the shaytan, and how could any muslim not seek refuge in Allah from that evil?

11 million people were killed. 6 million Jews, and 5 million "others" - Roma, Sinti, disabled, communists, anyone who was deemed an enemy of the state. You think there weren't muslims in the camps? Nazis controlled all of the Balkans. Given time they would have emptied North Africa and replaced the people there too. You can guarantee if there had been 6 million Arabs living in Germany in 1938, they would have met the same fate as the Jews.

Anyone who idolises Hitler had better learn some history, before they are called to account for what their tongues have said. And they should fear their Creator, for His punishment is worse than anything this dunya has seen.

Assalaam alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh.

How we are supposed to feel if non-muslims are being killed and why? For example how Hitler killed many jews.

Jazakumullahu khayran.

wa alaykum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

If non-Muslims are killed, we should feel saddness and empathy, we should send our condolences to their families as is normal in grieving. Muslims are not cold-hearted isolationists. Islam teaches us to be kind and compassionate to non-Muslims.

Ibn Abu Laila reported: Sahl ibn Hunaif and Qais ibn Sa’d ibn Ubaidah were in Al-Qadisiyyah when a funeral passed by them, so they stood up and it was said to them, “It is one of the local people.” They both said: A funeral passed by the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he stood up. It was said to him, “It is a Jew.” So the Prophet said, “Was he not a soul?

We should care about other human beings! It does not matter whether they are Muslim or not Muslim.

Al-Qurtubi reported: Some scholars gave permission to initiate greetings of peace with the unbelievers. It was said to Sufyan bin Uyainah, “Do you give permission to greet an unbeliever with peace?” Sufyan said, “Yes, for Allah the Exalted said: Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you in religion nor expel you from your homes that you be righteous and fair to them. Verily, Allah loves those who are just.” (60:8) Sufyan added, “Allah said: There has come to you the best example in Abraham, (60:4) and Abraham said to his father: Peace be upon you.” (19:47)

Allah commands us to be righteous and just. We stand up against oppression of any soul, whether it is Muslim, Chrisitan or Jewish.
