Never lose hope in making Dua to Allah

Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah said "Let none of you think that his Du'aa will go unanswered because of the sins that he knows of himself.

Indeed, Allah responded to the Du'aa of the worst amongst His creation; Iblees (Shaitan, the cursed one), when he said; 'O My Lord! Give me respite until the Day of Judgement!' He (Allah SWT) replied, 'Then you are of those who have been reprieved.' (Surah al-Hijr 36-37).

So if the Du'aa of Iblees' can be accepted, then surely the Du'aa of a sinner has more right than the devil himself!" And surely your Lord is never unjust...

May Allah accept our Du'aas and grant us the ability to continuously seek His forgiveness (through sincere repentance)... Ameen.

Assalaam alaikum,

Never stop making dua. We pray that He responds to our supplication. He Hears and Sees and He is the Disposer of All Affairs.

Never stop in making dhikr. We are given specific times for everything else. And we fill the other time with dhikr.

Brother, thank you for the reminder. We need posts like this constantly to help us fulfill our duty to Allah subhana wa taala.

Dua is a form of worship that allows us to store up credits for the Hereafter.

It is not a magic spell. This world is governed by the law of cause and effect; the law of pure reward governs Jannah. So when you make dua, you can't expect that Abracadabra everything that you are asking for will come to you. That is a very naive and simplistic view of dua. Islam came to Arabia at a time when the people worshipped pagan gods, false gods. Islam forced us to turn to Allah, to worship Him, not the statues and idols that the nonbelievers worshipped.

That is the purpose of dua, to bring us closer to Allah, to worship Him alone. It does not magically give us the life we want or ease the hardships we suffer from. It might make the latter easier to bear, but thats about it.
