Assalam alaikum,

In a Hadith narrated by Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, and related by both al-Bukhari and Muslim, the Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless and grant him peace, said:--

"None of you will truly believe until I am dearer to him
than his children, his father and all people".

His words, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, "None of you will truly believe", means that no person's belief will be perfected or that the servant cannot attain the reality of true faith, until the Prophet is dearer to him with an affection or love much more than to his parents, children and the like.

In this regard, again, one's origin, peers, partners from women or men, nearest of kin, social group, money or wealth which you have earned, private homes, gardens, villas should not be loved more than Allah and His Messenger, or else one should wait until Allah brings about an immediate catastrophe in this life or manifest His Wrath in the Next life. It is therefore an obligation for us to Love Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, the signs of which include:--

a) Love for his traditions/hadeeth.

b) Taking on his adaab-ie traits and excellent virtues in times of ease or hardship, joy or despair.

c) Mentioning him often by way of salaat ala Nabiyy, reflecting/thinking about him majority of time.

d) Loving the Ahl-Bait and the Sahabat (Companions), both the Muhajjirun and Ansar and being
hostile to those who hate them...based on what was related by Asaakir on the authority of Jabir
bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, who said that the Prophet, may Allah bless and
grant him peace, said, "Love for the Ansar is part of faith, and hatred for them is disbelief".
