When did scientists first discover how we see?
Who drew the oldest surviving map showing America?
What is the hidden meaning of the Elephant Clock?

The Science Museum host's its latest exhibition, 1001 Inventions: Discover the Muslim Heritage in Our World, which traces the forgotten story of a thousand years of science from the Muslim world, from the 7th century onwards. The free exhibition, which runs from the 21 January to 25 April 2010, will look at the social, scientific and technical achievements that are credited to the Muslim world, whilst celebrating the shared scientific heritage of other cultures. The exhibition is a British based project, produced in association with the Jameel Foundation.

Featuring a diverse range of exhibits, interactive displays and dramatisation, the exhibition shows how many modern inventions, spanning fields such as engineering, medicine and design, can trace their roots back to Muslim civilisation.

Assalamu'alaykum,

..this has lasted a long time.

Hope every muslim who goes, comes away with a realisation of just how much potential we have as an Ummah and if it can be done once it can be done a hundred times over with the power of Allaah. Success is ours for the taking on the condition that we are ''true believers'' and its very understandable why Allaah replaced our history of success with our current humiliation.

I believe in this Ummah 100%, every single one of us is a source of potential and important to the success and victory of the truth.

Realise this, then work, plan, build, sacrifice. May Allaah grant us victory in every sense.

Inspiration..I live on it =)

Wa`alaykum us-Salaam

What you're saying is true. Our state is pitiful and we only have our selves to blame.

Speaking on inspiration, I remember you highlighting the lack of inspiration for sisters in Taareekh ul-Islaam,

It just occurred to me, why were there no female examples of this sort of thing?

So much for inspiration =|.

At the event I noticed there was at least one "contributor". But yeah I forgot her name.

Was-salaam
