GAZA, (PIC)-- The death of two Palestinian patients who were denied access to medical treatment outside the Gaza Strip brought the death toll of Palestinian patients due to the closure of Gaza crossings to 50.

Ahmad Kamel al-Daya, 59 years, died because Gaza hospitals could not provide him with the necessary medical treatment and he was denied travel outside the Gaza Strip to seek treatment.

The death of al-Daya was announced on Sunday evening. On Monday morning, Dalal Odeg Msalam, 57 years, joined the caravan of martyrs who are dying in the Gaza strip as a result of the oppressive siege.

Spokesman for the Popular Committee Against Siege, Rami Abdu told PIC reporter that the situation in Gaza can only be described as disastrous saying that all aspects of life has been paralyzed and that there was no economic activity accept for simple agricultural product transactions.

Abdu added that there was a rise in death rates and new health problems are developing which warn of a health catastrophe.

A large number of patients in the Gaza Strip are threatened with death because of the lack of medicines or equipment to treat them in Gaza and the fact that they cannot leave Gaza to seek treatment abroad because of the Israeli occupation imposed closure on the Strip.

Sam Armanda reports from Gaza

Gaza Strip, December, 24, 2007, (PCAS) - More victims are falling down due to the illegitimate and criminal siege imposed by Israel on Gaza Strip. The number of dead patients has risen up to 50 in the past two days.

Palestinian medical sources announced today, Monday, that new patient died after Israeli forces prevented her to travel for treatment abroad. The sources added that the 57 years old, Dalal Musalm died due to severe disease.

On Sunday, an old man aged of 59 died due to heart disease. It was supposed he travels for medications outside. His family tried hardly to get him abroad to undergo for urgent surgeries. It called and made appeals to many NGO's and human rights associations. Yet Israeli occupation authorities didn't allow him. Thus, He was kept in Al shefa' hospital waiting his innovative death!

On Saturday, Zuhaira Radwan, 5-year-old Yousef Abu Mariam and the 4-year-old Nada Agha died due to the tight blockage too. It's worth mentioning that there are more than 1400 on death waiting list. In case Israelis go on with this closure, they will be dying soon.

PCAS's chairman, Jamal N El Khoudary, has called upon reopening the crossing points in Gaza Strip to end the ongoing death toll. PCAS started negotiating with some parts in this respect. "we contacted some sided regarding crossing points. We have got positive reactions." Chairman said .
