I am Hanafi and I am also a Salafi!!
Well, firstly, they just follow the Hadith. They don't want to deviate others and they themselves are not deviated! They don't want to cause disunity among the Muslim Ummah, because every Muslims know, that if we are united, we will rule the world. A example could be = during the righteous Caliphs. The Ummah was united and we were ruling from East to West. So unity is one of the most important thing and the labeled 'Salafis' want the same thing. The 'Salafis' want unity just like others.
Now an important thing is that, I said that I follow the Hanafi school of thought, yet I pray like the Salaf and do everything like that..
You may question ... How?
Well, you might not know that Abu Hanifa himself said that =
"Sahih Hadith Is My Madhab"
Not only Abu Hanifa, most scholars said this..
The thing is that, when Abu Hanifa gave fatwas, the Sahih didn't always get to him. He gave some fatwas on fabricated or weak Hadith. Now, it's not Abu Hanifa's fault. It's just that the Sahih books and etc did not get to him! I am NOT saying that Hanafi madhab is WRONG!
For example, we can take the example of holding hands beneath the navel. It's considered weak. But still Abu Hanifa said to do this, because he thought that it was Sahih. As there was no approved Sahih books that time, he is not guilty. He thought that it was Sahih but it wasn't. So now, we know that holding hands on the chest is SAHIH. So, would you follow the weak or Sahih hadith?
And one note, follow someone if he is not contradicting Allah's command or the Sunnah. If he goes against any of these, leave him!
What the Salafis do is in Sahih Hadith so, its in Hanafi madhab! So, we should unite and stop giving labels.
