About Islam
The glory of the Muslim ummah began during the era of the Islamic rule in Madinah and flourished rapidly during the leaderships of the Khulafa’ al-Rashidin, the Umayyad and the Abbasids. Islam then spread and established its roots in Europe and contributed to the illustrious Islamic civilization of Andalusia. This global Islamic civilization has brought benefits and mercy to the entire ummah and the universe.
The word " Islam" comes from arabic word "salam" which means "safety", meaning that Islam is a religion which brings the prosperity and safety to mankind and universe. Islam taught the similarity of all mankind in God sight. The things which differentiate one from others is the level of beliefs and "taqwa" to God.
Islam is consist of 5 basic prinsipals, which are:
1. Syahadatain
2. Prayers
3. Zakat
4. Fasting
5. Hajj
Islam also has 6 basic prinsipals of beliefs:
1. Beliefs to Allah
2. Beliefs to Angels
3. Beliefs to Holy Books
4. Beliefs to Prophets
5. Beliefs to The Judgement Day
6. Beliefs to Qadha dan Qadar (Fate)
Islam has insist its ummah to follow those basic prinsipals to make him a perfect Moslem. And as a guidance of prayers and his life, a Moslem should always refer to Al-Quran and Hadith, which is the main source of Islamic Law.
