If you want there is an online one but it is modern arabic and there is no

definition just arabic - english or other languages(internet explorer):
http://qamoos.sakhr.com/

There are copies of english to arabic dictionaries here:
http://www.kalamullah.com/learning-arabic.html

There is an unreliable english arabic dictionary here (still being built):
http://qamoose.arabeyes.org/

If you are looking for software, than I would caution you because they are really not that good. I find it easier to go online or use mawrid or hans wier or Lane's. The only problem is that they don't have index except for mawrid.

Welcome to tti and here you will find many good brothers and sisters.

may Allah increase for you and all of us knowledge.

for those who know how to read arabic at least and can only spell in english, this search engine will take what you type in english of a arabic word and give you the spelling in arabic as well as searching for it.

http://www.yamli.com/ar/

just type:

Code:
yawm

and you will see it spelled in arabic يوم. then copy and paste. I am sorta like abstaining from using it too much because I should know how to write/spell in arabic and this is like making me dumber or dependent on it.

have fun, by the way another, not reliable but handy tool is google translate. It would do ok for modern arabic, but definitely not Quran. The regular people put those translations in their so there is a great chance of error.http://translate.google.com/translate_tools

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله
بارك الله فيك اخي المسلم الداعية
there 's another service offered by Google Arabic Labs Called : Ta3reeb masha Allah its great tool!
it converts the latin characters & the numbers into Arabic text (just when you type your word and you hit space).
so its useful but not always helpful because it helps to be dependent on it and being lazy!(not everyone)
to learn Arabic language you need to be serious & working hardly!
we (native speakers) when we need to learn more & more if we want to know more about our deen,Quran .
وفقنا الله واياكم لما يحبه ويرضاه
آمين
