Al Qur'aan is Easy to Remember

New Revert 2010
I just read that 50% of the words of AL QUR'AAN can be found in our daily Salat and the Suwar of AL QUR'AAN which we recite daily.

That certainly confirms that which ALLAH has said:

Al-Qamar
And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? (17)

Assalemu alaikom,

I think it's one of the miracles of the Holy Quran, the way the verses stick in your mind. There's something about the way words are presented and then repeated, as a kind of variation on a theme, which makes them irresistable. It's just so amazing how those who don't even understand the meaning can still memorize large parts of the Quran with ease.

I remember a talk by Sheikh Mohamed Alarifi, where he describes his experience with the Quran. He was once in an English-speaking country, New Zealand I think, and was watching a young man preaching the virtues of Christianity. The sheikh asked those who were gathered, to listen to him reciting, first verses from the Quran, and subsequently, words he invented, but both times using the same melody. He then asked the bystanders if they noticed any difference between the two recitations. Amazingly, one middle-aged women said that the first sounded special. When the sheikh asked her how, she replied that she felt they were the words of God, and she knew this because when she heard them, her heart started racing, and she felt excited by the words. I don't know what happened next, but this small experience just shows the effect of Allah's words even on a non-Muslim. Sobhan Allah!

So, if the words are so special and easy to memorize, then what are we waiting for? I say this to myself more than to anyone else.

Wa salem.
