And the likeness of those who spend their wealth seeking Allah's Pleasure while they in their ownselves are sure and certain that Allah will reward them (for their spending in His Cause), is the likeness of a garden on a height; heavy rain falls on it and it doubles its yield of harvest. And if it does not receive heavy rain, light rain suffices it. And Allah is All-Seer of (knows well) what you do. ( Surah, ayah 265)
Spending on the way of Allah means to seperate with what we have and what we call our property. It means to give willingly for any purpose that is for the benefit of Allah's creation, and for the pleasure of Allah
The spending on the way of Allah and its importance is described in Surah Al Baqarah: "The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the Way of Allah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He pleases. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower. ( Surah Al Baqarah, ayah 261)
Whenever you spend in the way of Allah subhan wa teala, you should be generous and if if you do not, you are depriving yourselfe a blessings.
In this regard, Allaah subhan wa teala sais: Behold! You are those who are called to spend in the Cause of Allâh, yet among you are some who are niggardly. And whoever is niggardly, it is only at the expense of his ownself. But Allâh is Rich (Free of all wants), and you (mankind) are poor. And if you turn away (from Islâm and the obedience of Allâh), He will exchange you for some other people, and they will not be your likes. ( Surah Mohammed, ayah 38)
We need to spend in Allah's way our money, time, effort, energy and our knowledge, to achieve happiness and be rewarded. It's a wonderful feeling of joy and happiness when you by yourselfe help to others physically, mentally, morally and financially
Spending in the way of Allah is a trade, bargain and deal with Allah SubhanAllah. Sounds strange, right? Perhaps you wonder how someone could trade with Allah?
Allah subhan wa teala sais:
Verily, those who recite the Book of Allah (this Qur'an), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend (in charity) out of what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, hope for a (sure) trade-gain that will never perish.( Surah Al fatir, ayah 41)
If we want to be names “ Ya ejjuhellezine Amune" (O you who believe), then we have to behave and work like those who believe. Eman is not just uttering the words, nor can it ever be just that. Eman is a deep faith, strong commitment and a promise of obedience to Allah every aspect of our lives.
Everywhere we find in the Qur'an that Allah subhan wa teala invites, encourages and demands of people in a pleasant way to give him a loan. When it asks us to spend in Allah's way, Allah seeks to give him a loan. The word "loan" Allah is mentioned six times in the Qur'an in various forms.
Verily, those who give Sadaqat (i.e. Zakat and alms, etc.), men and women, and lend to Allah a goodly loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and theirs shall be an honourable good reward (i.e. Paradise).
One of characteristics of truthfull belivers is spending on the way of Allah in abundance and hardship.
Beside other characteritics Allah subhan wa teala is mentioing this kind of taqwa of truthfull belivers, those whom He promissed His forgivness and Jannah: "And march forth in the way (which leads to) forgiveness from your Lord, and for Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for Al-Muttaqun" ( Surah Ali Imraan, ayah 133)
Those who spend [in Allah's Cause - deeds of charity, alms, etc.] in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers). And those who, when they have committed Fahishah (illegal sexual intercourse etc.) or wronged themselves with evil, remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their sins; - and none can forgive sins but Allah - And do not persist in what (wrong) they have done, while they know. For such, the reward is Forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens with rivers flowing underneath (Paradise), wherein they shall abide forever. How excellent is this reward for the doers (who do righteous deeds according to Allah's Orders).( Surah Ali Imran ,ayah 133-136)
Allah subah wa teala is mentioing spending in His couse in many other places in Quraan:
Those who spend their wealth (in Allah's Cause) by night and day, in secret and in public, they shall have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.( Surah Al baqarah, ayah 274)
Verily, those who recite the Book of Allah (this Qur'an), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend (in charity) out of what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, hope for a (sure) trade-gain that will never perish.. That He may pay them their wages in full, and give them (even) more, out of His Grace. Verily! He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready to appreciate (good deeds and to recompense). ( Surah Al fatir, ayah 29-30)
It has been narrated from Abu Hurairah r.a. that Allahs Messanger Mohammed sallahu alayha wa saalam said: "Charity will not diminish the wealth, nor forgive a man that Allah will not increase his pride and no one will be humble to Allah, and that Allah will not rise. "(Muslim, 4689) Imam An-Nawawi in his commentary of this hadith says:" Regarding the words of Allahs Messanger sallahu alahya wa saalam:' Charity will not diminish property 'referr to two meanings. One is that Allah may bless him in his possessions and take away from him what can hurt him, a given charity will be replaced with hidden baraqah. The second meaning of this hadeeh is that even propety get reduced with given charity, it will be increased with reword of Allah subhan wa teala (Comment of Sahih Muslim)
All Praise be due to Allah subhan wa teala Only and may Allahs peace and blessings be upon His Last Messanger and The best Servant Mohammed sallahu alyah wa saalam, his Sahabhas r.a and all those who follow them untill day Of Judgment.
Oh Allah, give us the love for giving charity for Your couse,O Allah, we are stingy, so help us to be generous,Oh Allah, You are the One of Who we ask protection,O Allah, accept our honest duas. Ameen Ya rabby Al Ameen
