Salam sis

Your question is vague here. Do you mean music is haram, sami yusuf music is haram because it has instruments nasheed, or girls singing is haram? Maybe you want to rephrase...

"If you keep your duty (to Allah), then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease should be moved with desire, but speak in an honorable manner". [Al-Ahzab, 33:32]

This verse is directed at women when it comes to *talking*..imagine then if a woman were to sing?..

I personally do not know what is happening out there but it seems to be a lot of "religious poetry" accompanying a whole lot of *musical mumb-jumbo* in the background..the most sickening part is that they call them *nasheeds*..when they know what they do is *haram*..it is justice sought with *vainness*..and it is marketing at its *worst*..

May Allah protect us from fitan..Ameen
