Any doctors in the house?

This beening my last year in high school, i was think majoring in premed. but i don't have anyone to talk to so anyone who is or majoring to become doctor i could use a big help? I like real need help so if you are please tell me because i have a lot of questions.

Question one is hard because I real want to major in premed but people say it is hard and it is making me double think about it? I apply to two college so one has its own medical school and other doesn't so which one would be good? Can you study over board during medical school?

Salaam,

I strongly recommend majoring in Biology if you desire to enter medical school. I have a degree on Psych and a degree in Chemistry and I wish I could go back and major in Biology. The course that will help you for medical school is Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, and Genetics. There are others but I can't recall them off the top of my head presently.


If I were you I would apply and attend the college with the medical school attached, this will increase you ability to be accepted to it.

What do you mean by "study overboard"?

Sorry it took me long to answer it is just that i couldn't find it. Great, i am taking Anatomy and Physiology. Study overboard is where college allow you to go to another country to continue your education but it don't if i can do that during medical school. I though i would go to islamic country with good medical story because i heard we (islam) know more about medcine than non-muslims. And yes i am major in Biology. Me and chmemistry are like oil and water even though i take good grades on it.

It`s very comforting to know that both of you are going to be doctors. May Allah SWT guide you and grant you success every step of the way.

It`s great that you majored in Biology. It`s even greater that your taking anatomy and physiology. I am a firm believer that if you have solid knowledge of these two subjects, you will be a great doctor.

By the way, I am a perinatologist (i.e. maternal-fetal medicine specialist or high-risk obstetrician). I always have to explain the meaning because most people don`t know, even physicians.

Inshallah you will make it sister (i just relised your sister).

I was just like you in school, coming upto taking my GCSE's, i would always think what if i get less than 5 GCSE's what will i do, everyone will think im a loser, i wont make it and everything else. I prayed so much to Allah (S.W.T) to Inshallah help me through and if i didnt make it that i would still accomplish something. There is a lot pressure when your the youngest and everyone else has done well and your the last one, your expected to do the same. Its not fair i tell you.

Anyway keep your faith will Allah (S.W.T), thats my best advice, when reflecting back i can see that my knowledge in Islam was very weak back then and Inshallah its improving and will continue to. And that Allah (S.W.T) still helped me even though i was still doing wrong stuff. I always try and think where would i be without Allah (S.W.T)?

Welcome to my life. I feel like i am not going to make it through my first year of college forget going to medical school and knowing i have 35 days of high school left it terrifies me . Is natual or i am going out of mind? I have no self-confidence which is terrifying too.

Yes, perinatologists went to medical schools. Perinatology is a subspecialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

I know what you`re going through Sister. These days are very stressful and you probably feel . When someone comes to speak to you while you`re in the middle of your studies you feel like :angryblue: and . Actually you might even :fighta: . Sometimes you just feel like . When you are revising and you forget something, you feel :angryred: . This is all normal.

Don`t overexhaust yourself or you will end up and . You should have enough so that you can concentrate and be able to memorize easily. Or if you don`t feel like sleeping, just take a break and maybe go to the park and :muslim_child: , or even , but be careful not to break anything.

I think this is a phase all of us went through. I had this feeling when I was in my last year of high school, then before every exam in medical school. It is a natural feeling.

May Allah SWT make the day come when you will go to see your results and, at the first glimpse, you will look like this followed by :jumpclap: :holaaa: . You will feel happier than ever when you . Then you should :tti_sister: and thank Allah SWT for his bounties.

Just do your best in studying and leave it all to Allah SWT.

lol... i was going to be a doctor, until i realized that i felt faint headed and wobbly at the sight of anyone else's blood. I'm pretty cool with my own, for the most part, but i can't stand other peoples

and I know that not all doctoring fields deal with blood, but it'd be a big obstacle i'd have to overcome to even think about.

hello, sisters I understand how you all feel. sometimes it is stressfull but when you ask Allah for help, you are going to get. i am too hoping to become doctor, children doctor. I am in high school and insuallah, have 20 days leaf. I excitng to get out of high school and go to become I want to become. let pray fro one another and put our hope and faith in Allah hands. Don't give up!
