I've been muslim for 16 yrs and sometimes I feel like its taking forever for people to become muslim. I know its up to Allah and I know that when Jesus (pbuh) comes that everyone will convert but I thought by now that way more people would have converted. I guess I just can't believe that more people haven't found the obvious truth by now especially since Islam is discussed every single day in the media. I guess its just that since there are so few muslims in the west it makes things really tough. It would be so nice to just have one person from my family convert or one friend or one neighbour but so far nothing. Or wouldn't it be nice if your kid's teacher converted or your boss or spouse's boss. I know we have to be patient..what else can we do. I just thought by now that there would be so many conversions that life would be easier in general. Just wondered if anyone else felt this way and yes I know the sahaba went through the same thing.

Assalamu alaikum sister D4E!
Hidayah (guidence) is merely by the grace of Allah swt, the wise.

I will only remind you the following verses:

"And if your Lord had pleased, surely all those who are in the earth would have believed, all of them; will you then force men till they become believers?" 10:99

and

" And if you reject (the truth), nations before you did indeed reject (the truth); and nothing is incumbent on the messenger but a plain delivering (of the message)" 029:18

wassalamu alaikum

Personally sister I think a lot of people are becoming Muslim and fast. I can notice it from going to the Mosque these days. You always see and notice new faces i.e. Europeans/Jamaican brothers going to the Mosque to pray.

The other thing is when you pass a person in the street, how do you know if he or she might be Muslim or not, perhaps you would have thought they were just ordinary people but never imagined that they could be Muslim.

There are so many people in this world who revert to Islam but prefer to keep it known between themselves and their creator.

Remember if a person has never heard the truth or was never presented with islam he is not a kafir. Believing in one god and doing good deeds is enough for a such a person.

More muslims means more happiness, less loneliness, less discrimination, more Islamic goods and services, more places with mosques and halal meat stores which means less travel..they're are so many benefits..I could go on all day.

I think Islam is growing much faster in the US than in Canada. In Canada its mostly in really big cities like Toronto. In small places you are lucky if you see one a year which is masha Allah of course but doesn't make things change very fast. I really don't understand either why someone would convert and then keep it to themselves..its obligatory to do things which one would see.. a man has to go for jumaah and a woman would wear hijab. It would be sad if they converted and then hid themselves away..very sad indeed.
