Artificially Inflating Prices

zainab bala

Allah is sufficient.
This refers to the practice of artificially inflating the price with no intention of buying in order to decieve others, thus pushing them to add more to the price they are offering. The Prophet (s.a.w) said: ''Do not artificially inflate prices.'' Reported by al-Bukhari, Fath al-Baari, 10/484. This is undoubtedly a form of deceit, and the Prophet (s.a.w) said: ''Deceitfulness and cheating will end in Hell.'' [Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah,1057.]

Many salesmen at auctions and in car salesrooms earn unclean and haraam income because of the many haraam things that they do, such as conspiring to artificially inflate prices and decieve purchasers, or to lower the price of one of their products, or conversely pretending to be costomers and raising the prices at auctions to decieve and cheat.

Whose commentary is that? And is it from Riyaad Us-Saaliheen. Jazaakillaahu khayran for posting the hadeeth, but please mention also, the author's/shaykh's name when quoting in future.

Wa alaikumus salam wa rahmatullah.
The Author's name is: Shaikh Muhammad Salih Al-Munajjid, in his book called:
Muharramaat; Prohibitions Taken Too Lightly.

I hope its clear.

Oh ok. Jazaakillaahi khayran. It helps to know who said or reported what, when telling a fellow Muslim regarding something halaal and haraam.
