AYAH OF THE DAY WITH TAFSIR
Jumada Al-Thani 11, 1434
أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ السَّمِيعِ الْعَلِيمِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ مِنْ هَمْزَهِ وَنَفْخِهِ وَنَفْثِهِ
سُوۡرَةُ المَائدة
قُل لَّا يَسۡتَوِى ٱلۡخَبِيثُ وَٱلطَّيِّبُ وَلَوۡ أَعۡجَبَكَ كَثۡرَةُ ٱلۡخَبِيثِۚ فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ يَـٰٓأُوْلِى ٱلۡأَلۡبَـٰبِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُفۡلِحُونَ (١٠٠)
I seek refuge with Allah, the Hearing, the Knowing, from the
cursed Satan, from his coercion, lures to arrogance and poems
Surah Al-Maeda
Say: The evil and the good are not alike even though the plenty of the evil attract thee. So be mindful of your duty to Allah, O men of understanding, that ye may succeed. (100)5:100
Tafsir Ibn Kathir
أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ السَّمِيعِ الْعَلِيمِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ مِنْ هَمْزَهِ وَنَفْخِهِ وَنَفْثِهِ
Allah says to His Messenger,
قُل ...
Say, (O Muhammad),
... لاَّ يَسْتَوِي الْخَبِيثُ وَالطَّيِّبُ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكَ ...
Not equal are the bad things and the good things, even though they may please you, (O human),
... كَثْرَةُ الْخَبِيثِ ...
the abundance of bad.
This Ayah means, the little permissible is better than the abundant evil.
... فَاتَّقُواْ اللّهَ يَا أُوْلِي الأَلْبَابِ ...
have Taqwa of Allah, O men of understanding...,
who have sound minds, avoid and abandon the impermissible, and let the permissible be sufficient for you.
... لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ ﴿١٠٠﴾
in order that you may be successful.
in this life and the Hereafter.
