Assalam Allaykum,no sister thats not what it means. Backbiting is to say something bad about a person in their absence. Also to say something bad about a person which he doesn't like in his absence. Likewise it isn't good to praise somebody while they're present. It is better to praise someone while they aren't present. Then if you praise them while they're present they'll get bigheaded, and do good deeds only to be seen by someone. Allah knows best.
