Assalaamu 'alaykum!
The companions were known to always say "Allaah & His Messenger know best" when asked even the most basic questions by the Prophet (e.g, the famous hadeeth, "do you know what backbiting is?" The companions replied with, "Allaah & His Messenger know best" then the Prophet explained backbiting)...
BENEFITS FROM HADEETH:
1) Having respect for your Islamic teacher.
2) Thinking lowly of your own opinions and knowing you may well be wrong no matter how basic the issue is.
3) Knowing you could be wrong, and not believing you are 100% right all the time and not in need of more knowledge on even the most basic of issues.
4) Not forwarding your opinion in the presence of someone more knowledgeable than you.
5) Unfortunately in this day and age everyone has his own version of Islam & is ready to answer question not even posed to him!
6) The companions (who were the best of all generations) never forwarded themselves to even the most BASIC of question, yet we love fame and fwd ourselves and answer the most difficult, serious & in-depth of all questions without hesitation!
