Bethlehem holds vigil for Baghdad church victims
BETHLEHEM -- A mass and a candlelight vigil were held in Bethlehem Sunday for the victims of Sunday's massacre in a Baghdad church.
Hundreds of Christians attended a mass at the Nativity Church,
and then held a candlelight vigil in Nativity Square in Bethlehem city center.
Several speeches were given in front of the Peace Center expressing solidarity with Iraqi Christians and Iraqis in general. Muslims and Christians from all denominations held candles and signs condemning the slaughter, which left dozens dead.
Locals said Palestinian Authority Tourism Minister Khulud Du'eibes and much of Bethlehem's Christian community attended the vigil.
