Can we make Pacts with Allah Regarding Dua?

Asalaamu Alaykum,

While making dua'a, I sometimes find myself making promises to Allah if Allah grants my dua'a. For instance, I would say things like "O Allah if You grant me such and such favor, I promise that I will fast for 3 days....or give charity, etc. "

Is that necessary?

I say "Ya Allah if (this) is good for me in this Dunyeea and in Akhira grant it for me quickly. You are the only ONE who has the absolute power to give or take away things."

Salam aleykum,
I read that we shouldn't say like this because Allah swt is not miser, He is generous and ofcourse, His generosity is not conditioned by a deal. May Allah hear our prayers.
