If these two people have really planned such a thing then this is a big shame on us Muslims. But the profile of both of them suggests that they cannot do anything like this.
They both appear to be quite rational people with good education. And when you have good education then you do not do such idiotic thing.

The whole charge looks so funny: e.g.
Jennifer Strachan, chief superintendent of RCMP criminal operations in the province of Ontario, said Monday the two suspects watched trains and railways in the Greater Toronto Area.

So Canadian Muslims should not look at the trains now, even when they are at a R/R crossing.

Another funny thing in this news item is:
RCMP Assistant Commissioner James Malizia said the two accused were getting "direction and guidance" from al-Qaeda elements in Iran.
But there is no Al-Qaeda in Iran.

Iran's foreign minister rejected as "ridiculous" Canada's claim that the two arrested were backed by al-Qaeda in Iran.
"If the news that you are announcing is true, this is the most hilarious thing I've heard in my 64 years," the ISNA news agency reported Iran Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi saying today. "We hope Canadian officials show a little wisdom and pay attention to the world's public opinion and intelligence."

I understand the frustration of our dear sister and I am angry too.
Are we really radicalizing people or something else is going on.

Salaam Munawar, it looks like you seek to see conspiracy wherever a muslim is involved. Is it hard to accept that there are some who call themselves muslim but are not good people, as can be found anywhere in all religions?

I do not think Islam is so important that the west constantly has to invent schemes and plots to show it as bad. You should be asking if this person is a muslim what in Islam is he reading that tells him to act so.

Well, today it was reported that he said he does not need to follow Canada's criminal laws, he only needs to follow the Quran.

Ummm, sorry but you do need to abide by the criminal laws of the country in which you reside. If you think the Quran conflicts with those laws, then you need to find another country to live in. Why did he leave Tunisia???

    Dear Cariad,
I am not seeking any conspiracy. Just my life worth of experience is coliding with this idea that a man of this profile who is educated and smart would attempt to do such stupid and useless thing. And for what? The report says:

Esseghaier was born in Tunisia and had studied at the University of Sherbrooke in Quebec. More recently, he has been doing doctoral research at the Institute National de la Recherche Scientifique in Varennes, Que.
"His thesis was on nanosensors and he was in one of our research centres," Julie Martineau said in an interview with The Canadian Press about the PhD student, who's enrolled in the faculty of energy materials and telecommunications.
Esseghaier's LinkedIn profile reveals that he took part in writing a number of biology research papers, including those that focused on HIV and cancer detection.
He also attended scientific conferences that included the World Congress on Biosensors in Cancun in 2012 and the Photonics North Conference in Montreal in 2012 and the TechConnect World Conference in Santa Clara, Calif., in 2012.

And so far there are no proofs, just statements. Can you imagine if a white Canadian guy is held in custody in Tunisia on the charge of planning to de-rail a train. And the only evidance is that he was watching trains? The western media will go nuts, and scream so loud that all hell will break loose.
Then why we are so quick in judgement on the basis of just some statements when the "suspect" is a Muslim? Can this never be a set-up?

But if this guy has really planed this, then he should be executed for terrorism and specially for mental retardedness.

    As far as your statement
Well... Islam is far more important then you think. Islam is the main entity standing in the way of New World Order. That is why there is such a wave of so much hate against Islam.
There are a tons of Hindus in the west but why they concentrate only on Muslims and do the scare mongering? Maybe this will explain:

If you want to see the real terrorist, then see here:

I can imagine that stories like Canadian train terror plot can be created by people who have designs like in this video:

And these videos are just the tip of the iceberg:

    Peace.

Yes you should live by the laws of the land. Maybe Tunisia no longer offered him what he felt he needed in the way of opportunity. I can understand that.

Munawar, for sure it could be one of your conspiracies but also it could not so speculation without all the facts is a useless exercise. I doubt we will be privy to all the facts anytime soon, unless it beholds the media to share, and that is unlikely. So at best we have to make a judgement call.

What to say of your video clips...

I don't understand the necessity for "a new world order" the world is a big place why can't we live side by side together and respect our differences whilst celebrating our similarities. The member of Parliament..Swiss or German? I do not agree with his view but I can appreciate where he is coming from. I am not muslim I have no problem living alongside muslims and accepting them as friends and work colleagues. But I do not want to have to compromise my beliefs to accommodate theirs. It does appear in some places that muslims do not wish to integrate into the society they choose to live and seek to change that society into Islamic one. Which is ok but not to seek to convert others to this way.

Is it truly the muslim wish that all the world be Islam with no room for others? Why would this be? If this is the impression muslims give to the west then I can understand why some people will see Islam as a threat to what they see as their way of life.

The last video is just silly. Like UK would deport muslim population. Although we have been trying to deport Abu Qatada back to Jordon for some years with no success...because there is a worry he may be tortured on his return to Jordon. We can't impinge against his human rights but it is ok for him to hate us and encourage others to hate us, the country whose tax payers pay for his family to live in a nice house, with food to eat etc..

Really Munawar, I don't see this religion thing as a competition and I don't think God does either. We should be living in peace and not always finding faults in each others life choices or thinking we are better or worse than each other. It's little everyday people that hold the capacity for the greatest change and by treating each other as we would wish to be treated ourselves goes along way in telling our so called government leaders that we will not stand for their scare mongering and lies.

    Peace.

Most Muslims want him out too. I do not believe he would be tortured in Jordan.

    Cariad,
As far as wish is concerned, I believe that every Muslims should WISH that the whole world become Muslim. Isn't this the wish of every good Christian that all humans become Christian and accept Jesus as their saviour and get salvation and get saved in the next life? Don't you want every human to be saved? So do we.

But NO Muslim should force or put any pressure on anyone to become a Muslim. And if someone goes beyond wishing and educating people about Islam, then that person disobeys Allah's command, and goes outside the religion. But I have seen no reports or anything that Muslims are focing someone to convert. Many times people read Quran online and they become Muslim without even meeting any single Muslim in person.
So what is wrong here? What is our fault?
    Peace.

There is no wrong or fault in this, did I say there was?

I would not wish the whole world to be Christian unless it was free choice. I do not believe any person can be converted by another person or reading a book...like God is in a book!!! No..I believe it is only God that determines ones faith, the Holy Spirit of God guides where it wills, we just have to have open hearts.:)

I believe my salvation lies with God in the way Christ told us, you believe different. I could be wrong ... You could be wrong.. We could all be wrong..ya.:) we can only go where our heart tells us is true for us. Ok..I do not believe Islam is the way to God and salvation, but I would always defend of the muslim right to be free to believe as they would. Because that is your truth and I respect a persons free right to beliefs...that also goes for Hindu, Buddhist or anyone else.

I have faith in Gods call..so it's not in my remit to ponder on the souls of others because I believe as all souls belong to God then we are all in Gods care.

    Peace.
