The challenges of modern living often prevent us from having enough time for our children. The task of parenting itself is a time-consuming programme and parent often find themselves torn between their duties to their children and their commitment to their jobs.
However tight a parent's schedule is, he must find the time and the patience to counsel his children. Counselling here thus not mean rebuking or reproaching. Neither does it mean that the parents would have to wait until the time their children err. Counselling is an art and it requires patience, understanding and tolerance. These three would combine to convince the child that the advice or admonitions coming from the parent are motivated by love. Without these, the children, who already recieve stimuli from other sources outside of home would be deliberately defiant or rebellious which could negatively affect their development. Show love to your children.
