:salam2:

A Mufti sat next to a Reverend on a flight.

Rev asked the Mufti: What is your occupation?

Mufti: I'm into big business

Rev: But what business exactly?

Mufti: I deal with God

Rev: Ah, so you're a Muslim religious leader. I have one problem with you Muslims: you oppress your women.

Mufti: How do we oppress women?

Rev: You make your women cover up completely and you keep them in the homes.

Mufti: Ah. I have a problem with you people: you oppress MONEY.

Rev: What? How can one oppress money?

Mufti: You keep your money hidden away, in wallets, banks and safes. You keep it covered up. Why don't you display it in public if it's a beautiful thing?

Rev: It will get stolen, obviously.

Mufti: You keep your money hidden because it is so valuable. We value the true worth of women far, far more. Therefore, these precious jewels are not on display to one and all. They are kept in honour and dignity.

Rev: -silence

I must object to the last statement of what the mufti says concerning the comparison between women and money.

The point is that women in Islam are not object which are owned by other people such as money so I dont see any reason why he made this comparison? It is true that Hijaab is an obligation for women but once a women wears Hijaab she can go out by herself and she is not owned by anyone.

Also it is true that some ignorants are indeed locking up women in their houses against their will, but this is against Islam and sadly many things muslims do nowadays are against Islam.

its not about comparing women with money but about reason that women wear hijab to protect her honour and safety.

Smile! It's Sunnah!

salaam alaikum,
well sistr i dont think i he compares money and women in terms of both being an objeect. my view is that, see u cant disown the fact that Allah has made it obligatory on men to protect their Women not that they are their possesions but responsibility..........

Well thats wat i think rest Allah knows best
