And indeed the Hereafter is better for you than the present (life of this world). 93:4

The above verse is a fact. Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala is telling all of us that the Hereafter is better for us than our world. But how would one know about this if one does not read the Holy Qur’an nor is aware of Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala? Many billions of people wander through life not caring about their salvation, not even aware of the existence of a God Who created every living thing. Most people are ignorant and enjoying this life to the best of their ability. Excess and wanton waste is the norm, not caring about their brothers and sisters who are less fortunate then themselves.

By Allah, We indeed sent (Messengers) to the nations before you (O Muhammad SAW), but Shaitan (Satan) made their deeds fair-seeming to them. So he (Satan) is their Wali (helper) today (i.e. in this world), and theirs will be a painful torment. 16:63

Today, as before, people are reminded by Prophets and Messengers whom Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala has sent to warn the people to turn away from sin and transgression but the people do not heed His words because they enjoy the pleasure and luxuries offered to them by shaitan who is ruling the hearts of the many and who are astray. Many people also choose shaitan as a helper because he offers a life that is pleasing to them and he offers them enjoyment for a short time (in this world).

And We did not send a warner to a township, but those who were given the worldly wealth and luxuries among them said: "We believe not in the (Message) with which you have been sent." 34:34

The inner struggle that we all face is clear as black and white, either enjoy this life and face the consequences or persevere and struggle through this life by being patient and doing the things that Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala has ordered us to do, waiting for our reward in the Hereafter.

And leave alone those who take their religion as play and amusement, and are deceived by the life of this world. But remind (them) with it (the Quran) lest a person be given up to destruction for that which he has earned, when he will find for himself no protector or intercessor besides Allah, and even if he offers every ransom, it will not be accepted from him. Such are they who are given up to destruction because of that which they have earned. For them will be a drink of boiling water and a painful torment because they used to disbelieve 6:70

Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children, as the likeness of vegetation after rain, thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw. But in the Hereafter (there is) a severe torment (for the disbelievers, evil-doers), and (there is) Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the believers, good-doers), whereas the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment. 57:20

Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala created human beings to worship Him however as He has given us a free will we can either listen to Him or disobey Him. For most of us it is easier to disobey Him and listen to shaitan and his lies and enjoy this life whilst neglecting our primary duty which is to worship and remember Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala Creator of the heavens and the earth and all that is in between, the seen and the unseen.
