Quran’s Each Letter Worth Ten Hasanaat
The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Whoever reads one letter of the Book of Allah, will have one Hasanah for it, and each Hasanah will be rewarded tenfold. I do not say that ‘Alif-Laam-Meem’ is one letter. Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter and Meem is a letter.” [Tirmidhi]
SubhanAllah! Is any book comparable to it in blessing? Pondering on its meaning and acting on its instructions is rewardable many more fold.
To not act on the commands and prohibitions of the Quran is to deprive oneself of the real benefit of the Quran. It can be likened to reading a cookbook all one’s life, memorizing it recipes, but never making a single dish from it.
Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) has kept even the simple reading of the Quran as highly rewardable, as he who reads it has an improved chance of some day wanting to understand it and follow its guidance.
