Rabbe Zidni Illma
Life has become so fast paced that at times we feel that we have lost ourselves in a maze. Clock seems to be ticking at such a rapid speed that we don’t even realize we are mortals; we are walking little closer to our death every minute. In this race of Life, we tend to forget our objective, our purpose of life and we start sliding away from the path defined to us by Allah (SWT). This dunya sets out it’s mesmerizing & alluring trap to pull us towards it, and we being humans (sad but true) most of the times fall for it. Once we have fallen for it, we start giving huge amount of work load to the Angel sitting on the left-hand side. In order to constantly remind us about our sins, and to what it is going to lead too, I suggest a small method which I read sometime back.
It’s a pretty simple task to carry out. I am sure, a match box is affordable by almost all, so all you have to do is, run down the lane to a store (or maybe to your kitchen) get yourself a match box and have it with you all the time. When I say all the time, I mean “ALL THE TIME”. Now, coming to the implementation part of it. Whenever you think of committing a sin, take out the match-box and put a tinsy tiny effort to lighten a match-stick up. With prudence watch the flame, try taking your hand nearer to the flame. Do you feel the heat? Oh yes, you surely would, in an instant you would take your hand back due to reflex action. Now think for a minute, when you can’t tolerate this amount of fire. How would you TOLERATE HELL-FIRE which is SEVENTY TIMES MORE HORRIFYING!!? How would you feel standing in front of the whole of humanity facing the WRATH OF ALLAH (SWT)?? I request you to think of just these two questions at that time. I bet you wouldn’t dare do it.
Narrated Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه, Allah’s Messenger صلي الله عليه وسلم , "Your (ordinary) fire is one of 70 parts of the (Hell) Fire." Someone asked, "O Allah's Apostle This (ordinary) fire would have been sufficient (to torture the unbelievers)," Allah's Apostle said, "The (Hell) Fire has 69 parts more than the ordinary (worldly) fire, each part is as hot as this (worldly) fire."
[Bukhari:: Book 4:: Volume 54:: Hadith 487]
If by chance you didn’t realize your mistake while committing the sin, but later have realized it, still go ahead & burn a match-stick, see the flame which has the strength to lighten up the whole dark room. Run down to your prayer room, bow down your head to HIM(SWT), repent, weep, beseech for forgiveness and then see how Allah(SWT) lightens up your face with HIS “Nūr”.
"Except for those who repent and correct themselves and make evident [what they concealed]. Those - I will accept their repentance, and I am the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful."
[Surah al-Baqara:160]
"Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."
[Surat Az-Zumar (39): 53]
"And Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds; for those, Allah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. And whosoever repents and does righteous good deeds; then verily, he repents towards Allah with true repentance”
[al-Furqaan 25:70-71]
Hold it there, Read the verse again!! Did you just see SINS INTO GOOD DEEDS? AllahuAkbar!! Alhamdulilah. SubhaanAllah. All you have to do is repent, believe in HIM, do righteous & good deeds.!! And Voila!! Leave the rest to Allah(SWT). AllahuAkbar.
HE(SWT) leaves no scope of doubt that Indeed HE(SWT) is Ar-Rahmaan, Ar-Raheem.
