eid greetings from PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH

i was recently visiting an islamic website, that i hadn't been on in a few weeks. it's a great organization, but i was shocked to see that they were proud to receive a special EID UL ADHA greeting from President GEORGE W. BUSH. i do respect the office of the President, but i cannot support a president that has helped contribute to the countless deaths of innocent muslims in iraq and afghanistan. accepting his greeting and praising his greeting dumbfounds me, especially from an islamic organization. i'm really upset about this.

i just wonder how Bush can expect his greeting to help us get over the current war in our muslim lands.

I see your sentiment, but I think the shari'e opinion might differ. Accepting his greetings might carry more benefit than harm after all.

I am with you brother nyerekareem on this one.
And as things are with George Bush, he probably didn't mean whatever is written on that special EID UL ADHA greeting.

But since he is a sitting President of USA, I think we will have to accept the greetings even though we know they are soaked in blood.

maybe i should do that. but it seems to me though, that many of the imams here in the states, receive great joy when they hear president bush say something like " islam means peace. " yet while that is happening daisy cutters are being dropped on afghanistan and iraq. basically, if the imams or scholars can provide me with proof from the qur'an and sunnah, i will be accepting of the greeting; but if they just base it upon their opinions, i will feel that it is bad to take joy in receiving his eid greetings.

he killed milliions of muslims including children and women, destroyed mosques robbed muslims precious wealth like oil and occupied several very very important muslim countries. he just plotted all the tricks to destroy the whole muslim community with a great team with the jews and the hindus. how we can forgive him?
