I looked for an answer that I will never find,
When did the world stop caring, why are people so unkind?
I often have to wonder if they ever cared at all,
No one wants to hear the screams or watch our children fall.
Last night while you were sleeping you didn’t hear a sound,
While others feared the rockets that were crashing all around.
Children huddled close together fearing for their lives,
While they may die before tomorrow, you will be alright.
It breaks my heart to hear you say
“That’s how they choose to live”,
You close your eyes, you close your mind,
your heart’s too cold to give.
If you had to share their feelings for just a moment of your life,
Maybe you would understand , maybe then you’d see the light.
