Fabricated or true? "The ink of a scholar is more holy than the blood of a martyr"

Some people say it's true others say it's fabricated. I would be grateful if you could clarify it's authenticity please.

Imam sakhawi,Zarqani,Mulla ali qari (may Allah have mercy on them) said these arent words of prophet :saw2:. Zarqani (may Allah have mercy on them) said its most probabely statement of Hasan al Basri (may Allah have mercy on them).

It was mentioned by al-Suyuti in his book: "al-Jami al-Saghir" and he (al-Suyuti ) graded it as weak.

But they are equals. A true scholar does not fear death nor does a martyr. They both have mastered faith. To live and die by it.

i'm not familiar with the hadith. therefore i can't give you a definite answer. but my guess would be that a martyr has more of a special status. again, this is just my opinion and not neccessarily the proper view. i feel this way because a shahid literally gave up his or her life. leaving wife and family behind for ALLAH SWT cause. you can be a scholar today and your life not be threatened. i know that there are some places in the world where teaching islam can have negative repercussions, but in most places in the world they aren't in as much danger. also we are more urged to fight in ALLAH SWT's cause then we are urged to be actual scholars. we also know that from the moment that first drop of blood falls from the shahid, he's in jannah.
