Restraint
I work in an environment which is anything but religiously orientated. In fact intolerant of religion.
Not a day goes by where I witness numerous bland comments where workmen use the name of YESHUA in vain, particularly when under pressure. I think you know what I mean here. ( The expression J****sus Ch***t is all too often bandied about)
Yes as a follower of Yeshua this does upset me. I have on occasion requested them to desist from using this term. All I get is a negative glaze.. as if I'm a religious crackpot.
I found the best way of responding to these people was not to "boycott" these people, but rather get an explanation why they use these words and in return explain to them that they as non christians/non believers, that if they wish to use expletives, then they should use other words. (Not printable on this forum!!). Anything but the dignity of the creator.
I find it amazing that they DO take heed to what I say and notice they try their best not to use language in my presence.
But at the same time I do not and will not condemn them for who they are. Nor will I boycott them. Despite their non belief of God, it is not incumbent of me to ram religion down their "throats".
I try my best to live according to what God expects of us. By doing this I set an example by showing my colleagues how I conduct my life on a personal basis. Surprisingly,Most of these people DO see my "lifestyle" and not only do they show respect, but mostly accept me for who I am and still regard me as a part of the team. There are no hard feelings either way.
Sadly none of them will have nothing to do with religion. That is entirely their choice. But I will pray and pray for them. That'sall i can do. By boycotting them and friendliness towards them will be totally counterproductive to what I as a believer in the ALMIGHTY has commanded of me.
As YESHUA said "Go out and preach to all nations". That not only means preaching the word, but also the example we set in the manner in which we conduct ourselves and by forgiving them, which, in YESHUA's words, "For they know not what they do".
HI Humble thanks for your kind words. I would just like to say this in parting and from personal experience.Dear respected Sir BGfromGB,
I can see you truly love God and there is something that always pulls you to this site. Inshallah one day we will see even better BGfromGB. Keep on searching the truth.
Yes, we always put God first and his messengers as second. Never equal or more than God. Moreover, muslims never claim that prophets are divine (including Prophet Mohammed).
Yes we do pray for all humanity same like good christians or the people of other religon might pray.
Dear, tolerance is highly recommended in Islam. Freedom of expression is also well respected in Islam. God gave us free will to choose right or wrong way and at the end we are accountable for our deeds. However, with the freedom comes responsibility. Responsibility towards individuals and towards society as a whole.
Imagine, if such toys are introduced in the market what kind of things new generation will learn from this. First thing they will learn is - sex, even before learning "good morning".
Secondly, how can this world keep on saying that they are concerned about the clash of civilization, but continue to bring such tools of clash (including cartoons published in denmark). Just because of their arrogance, as you know they think that they are superior in millitary and economical power.
Thirdly, we need to respect all the prophet / messengers of God, may it be Abraham, David, Moses, Jesus or Mohammed (PBUH). They are the model for our 24hours life. They showed us the light and the path to God. If we can mock them and degrade them just for silly fun, how can we or younger generations be expected to respect them and follow their teachings?
Go to youtube or any other site. Search who is showing love to God and Prophets. You will not find single bad comment from any muslims poster against God or any prophet but you will find non-muslims writing most ugly abuses.
You need to re-valuate who needs to be changed.
So, lets grow mutually. If one can't respect innocent muslim lives or muslim faith atleast he/she should try to respect the God and his prophets.
