Asalam 3laikom brothers and sisters in Islam,

As it's Ramadan time and we're all abstaining from eating food etc...let us ponder about the real meaning of our fasting for Allah. I chose to share this poem that discusses the nourishment that our souls require....

Wasalam,
Mu2min

Food For Your Soul

Do you only believe in charity when faced with hunger pain?
When the sun has set at night will the lesson still remain?
Do you fast with piety or is it just for show?
Do you understand that Ramadan is food for your soul?

Do you think of hungry children that are living in the street?
Do you think of their starvation when there’s nothing there to eat?
Do you care that they are dying or do you really want to know?
Do you understand why Ramadan is like food for your soul?

Do you think of Allah’s mercy until the sun has nearly set?
Do you think to help the needy or do you simply just forget?
Will you learn that hope and wisdom was such a worthy goal?
Did you understand why Ramadan was just food for your soul?

Mashallah...Beautiful Poem

Salam

Mashallah sister that was a beautiful poem, often people forget that Ramadan is a time to think about the poor and needy and benefit from this blessed month. We watch T.V, engage in unbenefical conversations with our families or do things that aren't worth doing....in stead of observing in prayer and making du'a and making supplications to Allah to help ourselfs and the other poor and needy souls of this world. Subhanallah, we have become selfish and stingy and only thinking about ourselfs.

Inshallah i hope we changed our ways before the end is near. I pray for all my Brothers and Sisters in Islam that Allah Tala forgives us and makes us better and more caring people AMEEN!!!

Wassalaam 'alaikum wa rahmatullaah
