Forget about the Math Question can you get a solution for this Question.....

there are 6 people in one side of a river and only 1 small boat

these 6 peaple are 3 fathers, Each father has one Son with him..

so they are 3 fathers and 3 sons

they went to reach the other side of the river, but the small boat can carry only 2 persons at a time....also any son can't be with another father with out his father being with him.....but if they are only sons it is Ok....and if they are only fathers it is also Ok......and if they are fathers and their sons, it is Ok....

So the Question is How can you make them cross the river..and Reach the other side of the River????????..

can you do that?

Why dont i give them names, then it will be easy
the names are:-
Mohammed father to Qasim
Abdallah father to Omar
Hassan father to Ahmed

The solution.

Mohammed takes Qasim across the river and leaves him there,
he then comes back on his own and picks up Abdallah taking him across the river and then he(Mohammed) stays behind letting Abdallah come back to pick his son Omar.
Abdallah crosses the river with his son and then he leaves him there going back to pick Hassan.
He crosses with Hassan and in turn he (Abdallah) stays back letting Hassan go back to pick his son Ahmed and crossing with him the river.

Am i correct?:hijabi:

sister i think it is good to have names, but you did a mistakes and i think you didn't understand it..

you said :

Mohamed is the father of Qasim

Abdulahi is the of Omar

And Hassan is the father of Ahmed

so mohamed can't take with him Abdulahi BECOUSE ABDULAHI IS THE FATHER OF OMAR, and omar will be with Hassan and his son so it is a mistake...

Remember : NO FATHER CAN LEAVE HIS SON WITH ANOTHER FATHER ... OR NO SON CAN BE WITH ANOTHER FATHER WITHOUT HIS FATHER BEING WITH HIM....

try again..

IT IS NOT AS EASY AS YOU THINK

Okay I'll start like this;

Fathers are 1, 3, and 5
Sons are 2, 4, and 6, consecutively

So its 1&2, 3&4, 5&6

1&2 cross the river in the boat; 1 comes back across the river while 2 stays
3&4 cross the river in the boat; 3 comes back across the river while 4 stays
5&6 cross the river in that boat; 5 comes back across the river while 6 stays

Now you have all of the children across the river, with all the fathers at the starting point

1 crosses the river and gets out; 4&6 get in the boat and go back to the starting point

3&4 get in the boat together and cross to the destination side; they both get out, while son 2 gets back in the boat

Son 2 goes to the beginning and gets out, and 5&6 get in and cross

Father 1 goes back to pick up his son, and they go to the destination, with all people safely crossed

I like these types of challenges

I think its like steves response but the numbers are a little confusing so I'll use the names sister faiza used
Mohamed is the father of Qasim
Abdullah is the father of Omar
Hassan is the father of Ahmed

Mohamed and Qasim go across  Mohamed stays Qasim goes back
Qasim and Omar go across  Qasim stays and Omar goes back
Omar and Abdullah go across  Abdullah stays Omar goes back
Omar and Ahmed go across  Omar stays and Ahmed goes back
Ahmed and Hassan go across  everyone is across
