Assalam Alaikum,
I was going through islamqa but couldnt find the answer to my question. Some people believe that giving Sadaqa (voluntary charity) will avert some misfortune.
For example, a person is about to have an operation & before that he/she will give 2 goats in sadaqa to the poor, thinking that this will avert misfortune or any mishap during the operation.
So is Sadaqa with this intention correct.
Can some please help me find an answer to this question(from authentic sources).
