What is interesting is that from 1967-1994, Israel was one of Apartheid South Africa's greatest patrons, political partners and military allies. De-classified South African government reports show Israel supplied core military components, arms, weapons systems and intelligence to become a nuclear state. With Israeli assistance, South Africa tested its first nuclear weapons in 1979 and gave up its nuclear programme in the early 1990s.
