Asalamu Alykum,

Inshallah everyone is doing good

My question was does a muslim have to reach a certain level of faith to perform Hajj? For example if one Pray's 5 times a day, fasts in Ramadan, pays Zakat. Also does other acts of worship, for example fasting on Monday and Thursday, reads Tahajjud and others acts of worship. Can he go and perform Hajj?

Or is there more he needs to do still?

Asalamu Alykum,

I See. Although for some reason i thought you needed to have reached a certain level of faith, i dont know why i thought that.

Asalamu Alykum,

Well the reason why i asked was because, my brother said Inshallah he wanted to go next year and he said if i wanted to come to. Obviously i wont be paying because i would not be able fork out that much money. Another thing, is it okay if someone else pays for me to go. Inshallah we will all get to go one day. Alhamdulilah

Wasalam

I'd think that the best time to go to Hajj is when you hit bottom and your sins are more than your good deeds because "when the sun sets on Mount Arafat it takes all the sins of the pilgrims with it!" as the prophet peace be upon him said ;)

Just kidding of course. Hajj is mandatory as soon a Muslim can afford it physically and financially.

i used to wonder about that a long time ago, but then i realized something very important. who promised me that i would breathe my next breath? no one, so one should do hajj as soon as they can. unbelievably there are some muslims, usually the younger ones that think they can hold hajj off for their later years. but who gauranteed them many more years to come? they want to sin all they want in order to be forgiven years later when they perform hajj. i wonder if Allah swt would even accept their hajj, knowing their true intentions. therefore, do not delay your hajj if you are able to do so; do not feel that you need to be a sheikh to go, if anything i think performing hajj would put you deeper into the faith.

If someone is not able to go for various reasons (like a physical condition or whatever) then they should pay for someone else to go. So if someone is doing this for you, it is fine. Like ayman said, a loan is not acceptable.

Asalamu Alykum,

Jazakallah for the replies. Just to clarify there is no loan involved. Inshallah will be able to go.
