How Islam improves on Christianity?

How Islam improves on Christianity?

1. Islam calls for faith in One True God (Quran 112:1-4); Christianity calls for faith in an absurd Triune God (Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Ghost).

2. Islam calls for faith and good works (Quran 85:11; 4:122; 19:61; 32:19; 2:112; 103:1-3; 2:62; etc.); Christianity is all about faith only. In Islam it is a combination, you must have faith and you must also do good works. Both are combined together, and without one, the other is useless. This is absent from Christianity, in Christianity good works means absolutely nothing as the Christians always say, it's only about faith to be saved.

3. Salvation in Islam is very pure and simple, have faith in God and do good works (Quran 85:11; 4:122; 19:61; 32:19; 2:112; 103:1-3; 2:62; etc.); in Christianity Salvation rests on believing in torture and blood-shed of Jesus (God?)! One of the most disturbing things about Christianity is that to be saved, you have to believe that an innocent man died for you, an innocent man who did no wrong, paid for your crime! This innocent man was tortured, and given one of the most painful deaths, and basically you have to believe in such barbarity to be saved! This is nothing like the beauty of Islam, where you only have to believe in One True God (Quran 4:48). Why should you lay your Salvation on a man who was beaten, tortured, for a crime he did not commit! Christians are saved by the blood, torture and the brutal death of Jesus!

4. In Islam men and women are equal in the Sight of God (Quran 4:1; 4:124; 16:97; 40:40; 33:35; 3:195; 49:13; etc.); in Christianity men and women are not equal in the Sight of God (Genesis 2:22; 1 Timothy 2:13-14; 1 Corinthians 11:8-9; 14:34-35; Ephesians 5:22; Leviticus 27:3-4; etc.).

5. Islam does not believe in irrational Original Sin (Quran 17:15; 6:164), rather it believes in Original Forgiveness (Quran 7:19-24); Christianity does believe in Original Sin.

6. Islam equally blames on Adam and Eve to eat forbidden fruit (Quran 7:19-24); Christianity blames only on Eve for the same (1 Timothy 2:14).

7. Islam condemns the killing of innocent people, women and children (Quran 5:32; Bukhari Vol. 4, Book 52, No. 257-8; etc.); Christianity condones the killing of innocent people, women and children, and as such it encourages terrorism and mass murder (Ezekiel 9:5-7; Numbers 31:17-18; Deuteronomy 2:32-37; 3:1-7; 7:1-6; 13:6-18; 21:18-22; 22:25-29; 23:1-4; 25:1-3; 28:15-68; Joshua 2:8-21; 8:23-29; 10:28-43; Judges 1:21-35; 21:10-24; etc.).

8. Islam is a non-racist religion (Quran 49:13; 17:70; etc.); Christianity is racist (Leviticus 25:44-46; Matthew 15: 21-28; etc.).

The Prophet's Farewell Sermon: "All Mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over a white - except by piety and good action."

9. In Islam slaves should be treated nicely and it's also a righteous deed to liberate them (Quran 90:12-13; 2:177; Bukhari Vol. 1, Book 2, No. 29; Vol. 1, Book 2, No. 12; Vol. 7, Book 65, No. 286; Muslim Book 15, No. 4096; Book 15, No. 4074; etc.); in Christianity slaves are mere possessions (Exodus 21:20-21; Exodus 21:7; 1 Peter 2:18; etc.).

10. Islam condemns female infanticide (Quran 16:58-59; 81:8-9; 17:31); Christianity does not.

11. In Islam a lady can get a divorce (Muslim Book 11, No. 2091; Bukhari Vol. 7, Book 63, No. 197; Vol. 7, Book 63, No. 198); in Christianity a lady is like a prisoner and cannot get a divorce (Romans 7:2-3; 1 Corinthians 7:39; Matthew 5:32; Matthew 19:9).

12. In Islam women can inherit property (Quran 4:7; 4:11); in Christianity women cannot inherit any property if there is a son (Numbers 27:8).

13. Islam encourages both men and women to be modest and chaste (Quran 24:30-31; 7:26); Christianity insults only women for not covering their head (1 Corinthians 11:5-6)! Christianity does not even allow women to speak in the church, it is a shame for women to speak in the church (1 Corinthians 14:34-35; 1 Timothy 2:11-12)!

14. Islam reveres women's wombs (Quran 4:1); in Christianity pregnancy and childbirth is a punishment (Genesis 3:16)!

15. Islam strongly discourages alcohol and gambling (Quran 5:90-91); Christianity does not.

16. Quran offers freedom of faith and religion (Quran 2:256; 109:6; 18:29; 6:104; 10:99; 17:15; 42:48; 6:108; 76:3; etc.); Bible prescribes death penalty for apostasy, blasphemy and worshiping other gods (Deuteronomy 13:6-10; 17:2-5)!

17. Quran is preserved in its original language; Bible is not.

18. Quran does not have any version, 100% Muslims follow the same Quran; Bible does have at least two major versions (Catholic version and Protestant version).

19. Quran strongly claims to be the Revelation from God (Quran 53:4; 20:4; 36:5; 45:2; 32:2; 26:192-4; 16:102; 14:1; 2:185; etc.); Bible is a collection of writings by many different authors. In the Bible you have many men writing about God and you have in some places the word of God speaking to men and still in other places you have some men simply writing about history or personal exchanges of information to one another (ex: Epistle of John 3).

20. Quran does not contain any clear-cut error or contradiction; Bible contains many clear-cut errors, contradictions and unscientific statements. The debate between Dr. William Campbell and Dr. Zakir Naik can be watched on this issue:

http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=-6693125820690597622

21. Quran offers many falsification test and challenge to falsify its Divine Origin (Quran 4:82; 17:88; 11:13; 2:23-24; 52:33-34; 28:49; 10:37; etc.), and as such Quranic approach is logical and rational; Bible does not offer any such test or challenge.

22. There is no unfulfilled prophecy in the Quran, some of the prophecies have already been fulfilled; Bible contains many unfulfilled prophecies.

23. The words "Islam", "Quran", "Muslim", "Muhammad" and "Ahmad" are mentioned in the Quran (2:85; 5:3; 2:128; 2:131; 47:2; 61:6), and as such they have Divine Origin; the words "Christianity", "Bible", "Trinity" and even "Jesus" are not in the Bible!

24. Islam is a Universal Religion (Quran 21:107; 34:28; 7:158; etc.); Christianity is not.

In conclusion these are at least 24 ways in which Islam improves on Christianity. There are many other ways in which Islam also improves on Christianity.

Mashallah very informative article, I've learnt alot! *Saved it to my documants*:D
are you sure that Christianity doesn't forbid alchohol? Once I watched a video that's called "30 days as a Muslim" on youtube, A muslim scholor was telling the non-muslim that he can't drink alchohol because Islam forbidens it and then he said "Even Christianity forbids it".

Anyway Thankyou for sharing these interesting points.:hijabi:

3. Islam calls for faith and good works (Quran 85:11; 4:122; 19:61; 32:19; 103:1-3; etc.); Christianity is all about faith only

As a former Catholic I feel I have to argue against this. The church was always raising money for good causes eg: children in Africa, collecting food for the poor of the area. There is a huge organisation called CAFOD who are Catholica based and always raise money for the poor.

One of the 10 commandments is love thy neighbour...surely thats about helping others out. And wasn't Jesus known for his good deeds??? Making a blind man see...surely a good work if there ever was one?

Thanks for the rest though...was interesting :)

But the point he was trying to get across was that in Christianity doing good works and righteous deeds is not a necessary factor in salvation. You must believe in the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ alone(PAULINE) and have faith in it to be saved and enter the kingdom of heaven. Doing good works like charity or feeding the poor are fine but it isn't highlighted enough or given the importance that it deserves. Faith is what is exclusively focused on. Remember this is more of a Pauline ideology and Jesus and the Jewish prophets taught a message similar to Islam.

Salaam,

Actually this is not one of the ten commandments, however it was stated in the New Testament of the Christian bible.

The point is that while good works are taught in the Christian faith it is not necessary for salvation. As a matter of fact the Christian theologists state that a person can do good woks their whole life and if they do not subscribe to Jesus dying for one's sins then they still go to hell.

Whereas in Islam only Allah swt can look into a persons heart and decide if he/she is deserving of heaven or hell. And Allah is so very quick to forgive and find an excuse for our shortcomings. So many times it states our actions and compassion will be the weight of balance against our bad deeds.
