Jazakallah khair for sharing. It would be pretty scary to go to sleep at night then wake up the next day to find out it's still night/dark. Alhamdulillah we have these signs so we know what to expect.

Once the sun rises from the West, people will not be rewarded for their good deeds!

'No good will it do to a soul to believe then, if it believed not before, nor earned good (by deeds of righteousness) through its Faith.' (6.158)

Don't be too optimistic, but the other major signs for the day of judgement has to occur too.

The verse you quoted has a deeper meaning i believe. When people see the sun rising from the West everyone will be compelled to believe in the religion of Islam and believe in God but it will be too late because its far too easy to believe when god is front of you as opposed to have faith in the unseen. In fact if you read the begining of the verse it reads "Are they waiting for the angels or your Lord to come to them, or
for some of the signs of your Lord"

This is why God does not show up on earth..whats the point?

the earth used to spin on its axis at a rate of 4 hours during the early period of earth's existence but gradually the rate of revolution around its axis has been slowing down and is now currently at " 23 hours 56 minutes long " --http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=earth+axis+23+hours&meta=

Scientist believe that a certain time will come when the earth cannot slow down any further and just as an elastic spins backward once you let it go, same too the earth will spin counterclockwise. The sun will rise from the west before the people of earth experience a succession of 2 nights as indicated by the hadith of prophet mohammed.

Well, we have scientific evidence it will. So how can people deny it now? Honestly, people act like science is the full hard truth, but now they will refute?

I know.

You know what? Galelio said that the Earth revolved around the sun, but the Cathholic Church (using the bible) said that God made the earth at the center. He got put under house arrest and went blind till the end of his days.:)

They JUST apologized in 1996. It happened in the 1600's!

This is why christianity and religion in general is attacked by scientist today..a way to get back at them.

People who conceal the truth after recognizing it are called kaffirs or rejectors.

Often times I think that the science in the holy Quran itself is sufficient to convince any non-beleiver about the truth of Islam. Are non-muslim simply unaware of the scientific facts in the Quran or they have some theories to refute the existence of these in the Quran? Can any reverted brother or sister shed some light on this?

they say mohammed copied them or it was known in his time but this reveals their ignorance of the sirah. Logically scientist have accepted islam...most of the problem is due to us for not doing dawah
